I'm going to buy some rollers tomorrow...again...LOL! This time I want to try the ones with the cap things (if they work) cuz me and those clips just :wallbash: and I get frustrated...oh and they burn too! Thanks ladies!

If you are talking about the snap on rollers I use and love them because they are more convienent for me

LOL! Yes I'm talking about snap on's! Do they hold as firm as with pins? I guess I could buy the pins just in case, huh?? hmmm...what color should I buy? UGH!!

Thanks for helping me work it out...LOL!

Are you saying they work BETTER!!?? REALLY!! Cuz if they do I'll be buying a whole bunch in different colors!! I love the look but hate those darn clips, so bad I'll just stick do blowdrying and flat ironing every week. Thank you!

I wouldn't dream of pinning down my rollers with pincurls. The snap on caps work perfectly and if for some reason I still encounter a loose curl...I use the pincurl to reinforce the snap on.

Huh? I'm confused, will you elaborate please and thanks?!

I love them. For extra tension after snapping on the clamp, I tighten the roller by inserting bobby pins where you would normally place the metal clip. This allows me to roll upwards mohawk style without the rollers flopping everywhere

Thank you so much! I will pick up some bobby pins too.

I'm glad you asked this. My hair has grown a lot & I need new rollers. I was thinking about the snaps/caps/ whatever...

BTW, your hair is so pretty!

I've used the magnetic rollers with and without the caps...I find the caps leave a line where they snap on, and I don't like that. Right now I'm using mesh rollers with clips....but, I use the rubberized clips I found at Sally's because they are more comfortable than pins (which I am no good at) and they don't burn.

Sorry about the confusion. I meant I wouldn't dream of using the magnetic rollers without the snap on caps. Using pin curl clips (just pinning the rollers down with pin curl clips only) with the magentic rollers would be a recipe for disaster because I'd have loose curls dangling all over the place.

I ONLY use the rollers with the cap thingy....but sometimes a roller is still loose even after I secure it with the cap and this instance, I would use a pin curl clip in addition to the cap and it works perfectly.

All I've ever used were the magnetic rollers (uhhh, the ones with the snap cap thingy :giggle:)

When I was relaxed I often ditched the caps and used the pins to put through the holes in the rollers to get the roots straight and avoid roller dents (sometimes I was too lazy to sit under the dryer and would just sleep in them).

I love the snap on rollers:grin: and thats all I use for my rollersets, I dont have a problem with dents because sometimes I do a saran wrap and it smoothes the hair or when I remove the rollers and wrap my hair the next day everything is smooth. The size of rollers that you need depends on how tight of a curl that you want, the big rollers give loose curls and small ones give tighter curls. If I just want body I will use the jumbo rollers and saran wrap afterwards. HTH.

Hmm...I bought a big pack of magnetic rollers without the snaps/caps. What would be best for me to use to hold them in place? I was getting kind of confused about the pin curl and etc. terms being used, oh and do I need those papers? Sorry for all the questions. I have natural hair and would really like to try a roller set. Disclaimer: I have never used rollers before, not even when I had relaxed hair.

It depends on what you like, I love the cap ones, they do tend to leave a line, but after you sleep on it wrapped up the first night the line disappears, or even better if you do the seran wrap thing it will go away instantly.
