Do Tenderheaded People Have Longer Hair Because of Less Manipulation?

Or more gentle manipulation? Many of the people I know IRL with long BSL+ hair usually quite tenderheaded. I wonder, now that I think about it, if it's because they usually manipulate their hair much more gently and less often than people who are not, allowing them to retain length much faster? Any thoughts?

In that case dd (3yo) will have floor length very soon:rolleyes: Had a hair session today and if it isn't 2 strand twists it's no fun:sad:

She just might :yep:. Two of my friends in elementary school w/ TBL and WL were very tenderheaded

I'm tender headed and I'm mbl. I've noticed I've retained a lot more length ever since I stopped letting my mom do my hair. She'd rip though it and braid it every week like clock work. To this day, she thinks my tears were an exaggeration. :spinning:

eta: Granted, I do like twists/braids but I just take my time detangling and parting. Takes me forever and a day.

Well I burned my scalp a few weeks ago (I was stupid and put my oil & honey mixture on while it was still hot) and that left me really tender headed for a while. I couldn't stand to do anything with my hair and when I did try to detangle I had to be super gentle; So I can see how being tender headed can help with length retention. But overall I think low-manipulation is low-manipulation and that helps with length retention period

I have alway been tender headed, short (TWA) or longer (now grazing BSL) I have always hated combing my own hair and I really don't like anyone else to comb my hair. I have been just finger combing for last 6 months I like it much better no pulling hair from scalp and lose less hair. I also take my time this also means I don't mess with my hair much.

Let me add-I am not tender-headed, but at the same time I am not rough with my hair. If I have to say ouch, then something ain't right. Being gentle with your hair regardless of how sensitive you are to pain, is how you keep hair on your head.

My sister is tenderheaded and won't let anyone touch her hair. Now, when she did have lots of hair it was because she wasn't under so much stress. I have not seen her hair in 5 years or better. She has some of the best wigs money can buy. So I don't think tenderheaded people have any longer hair. I'm not tenderheaded but I am tenderhaired. You just ain't gonna handle my hair any ole way and think I'm gonna take it.
