I do everything and only set foot in salons to look at products sometimes or brushes for the heck of it. But letting someone up in my hair..ummm I don't think so!!@!! Bonjour

I can do 95% of my hair including relaxers/texturizers, most styles including braids and twists. The only things I can't do on my own hair are weaves and that's because I haven't tried yet;)

I haven't been to a salon since May. I was fed up of paying to get my hair done, putting it in a ponytail two hours later, and then waking up the next day looking like I never got it done. Not only have I saved my hair, I've also saved soo much money :)

Besides my dusting, I still don't know how to do my own trims. But everything else, I do on my own... relaxing.. coloring, stlying etc.

Well after years away I went back to them 1x August 2004 and 1x March 2005. And I remembered why I prefer to do it all myself. I don't color BUT I to it all myself. Wash, trim, relax, etc. I like it better that way. I know my hair and what it likes and what makes it tangled. They don't listen most times...

Whoo! Yall have some nice hair DIYers Im too scared to do it myself since my hair has so much damage now and short. Especially doing my relaxers dont come out as straight as I like being that I take so long then ready to wash it out just as soon as it got on. One day though.

I'll go to get braids put in, but I do everything else myself. My hair has quite a bit of wave when wet, and I can just see some hairdresser yanking at it all rough from the top down. Man, I'd have to give somebody a beatdown. And I don't want to do that. So, it's better for all concerned that I do it myself.

Anything my hair needs, I do it myself. I can count on one hand how many times I went to a beautician and I like my results a lot better. I pressed my hair better, cut/trimmed my hair just the way I wanted, texturized exactly the way I wanted, etc.
