I am proud to say that my hair is knot free. I flat ironed and got all of them out. The bad news is that, in the process, I lost two handfuls of hair. A bit of those handfuls was breakage. :( And then I cut out a total of four tangles. My hair is no longer blunt, but it does have this V thing going on. It also feels thinner, but I dont know if this was because I gave myself the BEST flat iron that I have ever given myself or because of all of that hair loss. The flat iron dealie is probably the only good thing out of all of this.

My hair doesnt look horrible, but I lost so much progress. I will never let my hair get like that again. If I do, I am BCing.

I guess I'll cry. :(

I should take this advice Im about to tell you..

Do Not Cry.. Better to have healthy hair than long unhealthy hair!!!!

cuz healthy hair grows long :D

Oh i know exactly how you feel that happened to me in August and i actually cried about it. I just braided it up, but i think that just perpetuated the situation, my hair naturallly knots up into these balls when it's dry and i haven't trimmed it in a while. And there is no amount of conditioner that can undo them they aren't tangles but knots, so i just cut them out.

Khandi:

That's true, I suppose. It just sucks that my hair was healthy, i was doing everything right and a few tangles could mess everything up. :(

alonshaw:

It sucks, right? UGH. I think that I am going to have to use heat more often to keep this under control. That and dont try any new products. :ohwell:

Sareca:

Thanks, girly. ::hugs:: I am used to losing a lot of hair, but not THAT much. And I havent had breakage is such along time... until now. My hair feels fine, though. I dont get it. It even has elasticity. I guess it was the all the knotting and tangling. :perplexed

Your hair looks great, it looks very healthy and FULL!!!! How did you get the knots?? Are you just coming out of braids or something?????

No braids. I am normally a wet bunner. It was a combination of trying new products that didnt agree with my hair and not having enough time to undo the damage of those products.

Thanks!

Thanks, Pokahontas. :)

Did you try the BTZ stiff head, yet? I *heart* it.
Nah, not yet. I have to go out of town to get to Sally's so on my next day off I'm getting it. Hopefully they still have that buy 2 get 1 free BTZ deal.

I don't think you have a thing to worry about. Your hair looks healthy and thick to me.
co-signing! You have nothing to worry about. Now you know that those products don't work for you and you can keep it moving. It's just a small setback! Enjoy your wonderful flat iron results!

Don't worry it's on sale till the end of the month! I hope all the LHCF's in my area haven't bought it all up!

Thanks, divine!

Crls, I finally know how to get beauty salon results. I'm so happy about that! All that I used was nexxus heat protexx and Keracare jojoba oil moisturizer. I'm still gonna relax this weekend though. These three months have sucked.

And I'm glad that sale isnt over yet .

GS, sorry to hear about your hair troubles but I wanted to ask so you think the knots and tangles were a result of being a wet bunner? I used to be a wet bunner too with wonderful results then all of a sudden my hair hated airdrying. Bunning my hair while wet was a disaster waiting to happen. I had to end up gradually trimming about 3 inches to get rid of the breakage/thinning I saw on my ends. As much as I loved air drying I had to give it up. I had no choice but to go back to weekly rollersetting and have had no problems since then. Just curious if this could have been your problem too.

I think that it definitely contributed. :( And that really makes me angry because I kinda enjoy bunning (wet or otherwise). A few weeks ago, I was contemplating rollersets but i dont have a dryer and I dont know which one I should get. What dryer are you using? And do you only wash once a week? I wanna try that. I've been washing every 3 or 4 days (during the summer it was every other day)

GIRLLLLLLLLLLLL,

I feel your pain! I trimmed last night because the knotting and breakage was out of control. I kept losing hair to knots, and I haven't been using direct heat (which is a straight up struggle for me  ). So I trimmed off an inch and my ends feel so good.

Your hair looks great and I'm sure you're done with the tangles! Just note: I rollerset and they were STILL popping up on my ends. I think the trim will solve everything  .

Good luck!

Hugs hugs and more hugs.
Your hair still looks great. Think of it this way in a few months it will be longer and HEALTHIER and that's what's important. Keep growing girl!!!
