Do conditioners expire?

I've been doing some spring cleaning and I found a couple of Nexxus Humectress bottles. I didnt like it the first time alone but I wouldnt mind mixing it with some of my other conditioners. But the thing is this is probably over a year old. Are conditioners like makeup in that you should not keep them over them for a certain amount of time?

I've had my Humectress for about 2 years and there's no way I'm throwing it out, I haven't got money to waste!

I was told by a licensed cosmetologist that conditioners, as well as other hair care products does expire. I would like to know what are the consequences of using an expired product. I will inquire about it. I'm a product junky and since I've spent my $$$, I will use it to the last drop.
