Do Anyone Remember?

watching Juanita Bynum's wedding? My mother is Getting married in September, I told her about the part of Juanita's wedding where John Hagee mingled the bride's salt with the groom's salt and said the only way they could sererate was to take the salt and seperate it one from the other. I'm paraphrasing here, but do any of you ladies remember the exact words John Hagee used? Or can you tell me where I can find this tradition. I believe he said it was a tradition with Jewish weddings. Thanks ladies.

Thanks so much for your reply. I checked out both site and the second one gave me plenty of info. I guess John Hagee just changed his wording to make it fit a wedding. I did some searching on the subject myself and saw where it is used instead of the unity candle at weddings. I still did not find the exact words used for weddings but I guess that would be up to the Pastor performing the ceremony. Thanks again.

Glad to help. I have never actually seen the wedding (dont't have cable) but I heard that it was an awesome production! Good luck and blessings to your mother!

He actually said in the wedding that it wasn't necessary for weddings but when they did transactions. The importance of it I believe was to prove there is a covenant taking place like in Ruth where they took off and gave the other person their shoe. hth
