Do any naturals just get their roots blown out at the salon?

Hey guys I know I have been MIA for awhile but school has started and I feel swamped already! I just have a quick question. I plan on getting a dominican blowout in october when my challenge is over and wanted to know if any naturals had success with just blowing the roots out and flat ironing the rest?

There is a salon in Detroit where they blow dry the hair and then press only the roots and flat iron the rest. The hair comes out looking healthy and beautiful. I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for...but I hope it helps.
