Are any ladies doing their own makeup? I want to do my own because we are on a budget and I cant see paying someone 125-150 dollars. Any tips, suggestions?

Hit up sales. I know some department stores carry good brands, or even discount brands that are highly comparable to name brands. Also check out some youtubers a lot of them try to budget shop. Specifically I know bargain princess.

look at youtube for makeup ideas by putting things like do it your self wedding makeup in the search....i don't know when your wedding is but sephora does a 40% off friends and family sale and you just missed the bobbi brown beauty one a month or 2 ago. places like mac do makeup classes but i don't know whether anyone does special ones devoted to bridal looks. good luck,op :) i'll tag a few of the makeup forum ladies for you.

there are a quite a few ladies on youtube that do great makeup looks that aren't bridal but their application is on point here's a few i watch regularly:

Thanks ladies, I think the fear is not having that perfect face for my wedding!!! I am going to check out youtube and start practicing!!!

Depending on where you live it can be way cheaper than that.... My cousin used the Estee lauder counter and all she did was buy the products she regularly uses to give them the sale they needed.
Also, some of the reps do hustle for cash on the side. I had a chick do me for 25.00. She wanted pics and reference for her portfolio.

SunySydeofLyfe and anyone interested in doing their own makeup,
i'm writing a book/ebook on this very topic, and i'm currently in research mode.

So i've helped a couple of ladies with their makeup on this forum already, and i'm willing to give you tips/pointers/advice (or even a page or two from my book)
if you need it, should you not use a makeup artist.

(i'm trying to empower brides and brides maids who want to do their own makeup for their special occasions)

pm me if you'd like to find out more.

oh yeah. i forgot to say, i'm a makeup artist for a pretty big counter.

Brides magazine always have bridal makeup advice and with really good tips for DIY. The question is do you want to go light and natural with your makeup or bold and colorful?

@makeupgirl I am not sure, my main concern is how to get a flawless canvas. What makeup will give good coverage without melting off in the August heat.....

I would suggest a good concealer and a tinted moisturizer. In fact, urban decay has a good tinted moisturizer that is good with blemishes and they have a line that has this spray (I can't remember what it is off the top of my head) but you spray it on your makeup after you're done and it last until you remove it later on.

Concealer...Tarte makes an awesome concealer 4-in-1 natural concealer that covers up blemishes, under eye circles. I tried this on one side of my face in Sephora and it was a huge difference. I have freckles and allergy shiners/dark under eye circles and this concealer mininized the blemishes. Oh and Tarte is a natural based makeup without the chemicals that's harmful to your face.

I hope this helps. :) Congrats on your upcoming wedding.

Here I am face forward, I want to conceal the blemishes and not melt....

You look soooo pretty!!

As for makeup: since you will want the makeup to last all day, I would go with a long lasting foundation instead of a tinted moisturizer. Especially in the Southern heat (i'm in FL), the tinted moisturizer will run off your face as soon as you sweat or cry even with a good setting powder. MAC Pro Longwear is a very good long lasting foundation and it dosen't give you that caked on look...the matching concealer is wonderful! Revlon Colorstay is a great one too...MUFE has a great foundation as well.

...also, a tinted moisturizer will not give you the coverage that you desire. It's meant to even out your skin, not cover blemishes
