ANY DIY SEW IN LADIES? PLEASE POST YOUR TECHINIQUES?

I was wondering if there were any DIY sew in gals? I want to be in more control of my own hair and keep money in my pocket. Soooo, for women who sew in there own hair, how do you do it, and do you have any pics? What pattern of braiding do you use? How long have you been doing it for you? Any input would be great?
