i have 4a natural hair (i believe) and im wondering what you DIY/ mixtress ladies mix up for a good moisture spray? and that works good for braids since im leaving for basic training soon in a couple months. i want something similar to the shescentit moisture mist, except cheaper for my wallet  any recipes appreciated! TIA!

I use 2 parts rose water (rose buds steeped in boiling water) with 1 part aloe vera juice. Smells divine! HTH

do you steep the rosebuds yourself? and for how long? or buy the rose water in the store? thanks.

I use vegetable glycerin mixed with water and a tad bit of aloe vera gel. My hair loves it!

I throw a whole bunch of stuff in mine - water, vegetable glycerin, a little coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and HE HH condish

I'm doing that in a 1.5 fl oz bottle with a 1/2 teaspoon of honeyquat =] Just mixed it literally 5 mins ago (got my honeyquat today!),hoping it's good ^^

I have one I make it with Yes to carrots or Yes to cucumbers conditioner.
Im not really exact on the measurements but i use Bhringraj oil, bottled water, half conditioner, aloe vera and if i want an extra boost of moisture glycerine. I put it in a nozzle bottle and shake it really well and it will normally last for the whole week.

honeyquat is a humectant. Like glycerin but from what i've read here better. and not sticky (it's a liquid). So I thought I'd try it out.

OP Thanks for starting this thread. I'm looking for a good spritz this summer. I need something to combat the fuzziness of days old twistouts.

When you all post your concoctions... could you please also detail the amount/ration of what you throw together? Thanks ladies

I use one that I found on YT that I really like. It keeps my transitioning new growth moist all day.

5 oz. distilled water
1 oz. evoo or jojoba or grapeseed oil (whatever oil you like)
1oz. honey
1 oz. aloe vera gel/juice
1 oz vegetable glycerin

Shake well before using. I also keep it in the fridge.

My daughter has type 4 hair and is of course natural. I've had to break down her moisterizing spray to basics. I have water, infusium 23 and moroccan oil. That's it.

I put it on her hair when I do it and it leaves her hair feeling extremely soft. It doesn't get hard or crunchy once it dries. It stays feeling squishy and soft. lol

SCurl mixed with water. Sometimes I add a little olive oil to the mix.
