Different hair= Different glasses?

I am too cheap to change glasses by hairstyle. What I do is make sure the glasses I get are glasses I could wear forever. The glasses to the left are my previous glasses. The ones to the right my current pair which I love madly. In fact, when the optician's tech broke the frame while putting in new lenses and I was offered any pair of my choice, including designer ones, I couldn't find a pair I loved as much as this and they had to order the very same inexpensive pair from the manufacturer.

ITA with Nonie. When I buy glasses I try to make sure I can wear them with almost anything.

Yep I think so. I went from oval to these

And big hair is awesome with these babies. So is a side swoop with bun. :yep:

OP you look nice in those frames. :yep::up:

I upgraded my glasses this past June....this is the frames I'm sporting these days except the color is tortoise shell brown:

First - You are beautiful!!!! Both ways!!!!

And - second - I have always worn glasses too...I think it is important to look at frames that work for your FACE - and not yoyur hair.... Since you can change that at any time. I bought glasses once - when I had Braids that were 3 shades lighter than my hair.... ummm.... Haaaa

Good luck!!!
ETA - this is a totally old thread... Woops.

I've always worn glasses. Since I've been natural though, I've been wearing my contacts a lot. Well since I'm back at work I just don't feel like being bothered with contacts sometimes. However, it's time for new glasses as my old pair had an, um, incident, with my 2 year old.

So I was thinking maybe I should just go in a totally different direction with my new glasses. What kind of frames do you think I should get? Or do you think I should just get the same kind I've always worn.

Here's a pic of me with my old hair and old glasses:

I guess I'm asking if the hair makes a difference in the type of glasses that one wears? Any other 4 eyes out there?

Everyone looks so good in their glasses! :yep: I can't wait to get myself some new glasses! Admittedly, the ones that I have now (avatar) didn't look so hot when I had a TWA, I'll just say my hair grew into them.

Now, I went and got some seriously chunky, literally antique glasses to wear with the really big afro I'll be sporting in the near future. My regular glasses lost a screw and the nose pad fell off and I needed them repaired but couldn't envisage contacts for a whole week (I'm chicken, takes me forever to get them in, then later to get them out too, sigh). So, I went to Mr Wexler, my old, lovely optometrist and chose a massive, chunky pair that felt right at the time but don't now. Couldn't say how much they cost:blush::blush:. They look like sunglasses (yep, that huge!) and as my nose is so small, they kinda look ridiculous - I like them in a hot day though as they are transition lenses.

I think I have a problem - I feel I need at least 5 different pairs to suit different hairstyles and clothing styles:spinning:.
