Yes i was 9, then again at 14, then at 19. I will prob nevr get one again unless i hav enuf money to hav an on call hair stylist. I was not/am not good at caring for relaxed hair.
I was around 11-12 years old when I got my first perm and the only reason I got it was because I begged my mom to perm my hair . I did contemplate going natural when I was pregnant with my son at 19 though . But , no I have never regretted it and I still receive a perm 10years later .
Wow, do you ever play with your curly texture during your stretches? Peacewow...I must be like, a really atypical case!'cuz I'm seeing so many people who got their hair first relaxed at ages 10-13!...I had my first relaxer when I was like 5! And I've regreted forever! now i'm in my stretching phase, like 4-6 months at a time.
Don't make me cry too. PeaceI was 6 or 7 and I cried. Why did my momma do that to me? I would never do that to a child!
I was 14-15. I also begged my mom to allow me to relax my hair. I wouldn't say that I ever regretted it. I just wanted something different. I've been natural as an adult. Honestly, my hair was longer and in a much better shape with a relaxer. I'm transitioning for the 2nd time. If my hair doesn't thrive this time around, relaxed (texlaxed) hair will be it for me.
I agree as well. PeaceOh and although I had my first at 8, I do agree with waiting and not giving little girl's relaxers. I always said that if I had a daughter, I would not give her one unless she asked for it and she would have to be at least a pre-teen.
I was one My aunt, who was 16 at the time, thought it was a good idea...
I actually gasped. I have no words for this...
(It's amazing what goes through our heads as kids...)
Interesting, I've never heard of a one year old getting a perm before. PeaceI was one My aunt, who was 16 at the time, thought it was a good idea...
