Did my bun do this?

Hi ladies! I have been bunning consistently for 4 months now. I decided to flat iron my hair so I could get a trim. Well I ended up getting a cut (which I LOVE) bc my ends were torn up and I had some weird breakage in the middle...could this have stemmed from bunning? Now I have a fresh new start at APL and don't want this to happen again! Any help is greatly appreciated!

I thought you relax so I was going to say it's because you part in the middle and apply the relaxer as such each time you do a touchup but after finding out you are natural, I cannot give you a reason for that. I would cut it to even it out and handle with care after that.

Besides the southern tease bun (which I just did today after reading this thread and taking out my foam sock bun and hair elastic)and a loose bun on itself, which other styles are best to try as an alternative?
