DEAD HAIR OR BREAKAGE?

I just took kinky twists out and they were in for only a month and whiile washing it out there was alot of hair coming out can someone please tell me how can I know if it was dead hair or was it breakage

It was normal accumulated shedding of your hair. Everyone's hair sheds; if you don't comb/brush your hair for a month, you're bound to have some shed hairs.

BTW: hair IS dead. Once it comes up through the follicles, there's no more life to it.

White bulb on the ends = shed hair (ok)
No bulb on the ends = breakage (not ok)
