DCing w/ or w/o heat; which do U prefer?

Is it more beneficial to deep condition w/ heat, rather than w/o. Has anyone done a comparison of the two and found one to be better than the other?

Ive compared the 2...conditioning w/o heat is a big waste of time for my hair. If I dont use heat the conditioner just sits there and does nothing. I always deep condition for at least 15 minutes with heat.

I deep condition with heat weekly for a minimum of 20 mins. If I don't want to lug out the hooded dryer I put on two plasitc caps and cover with a towel for one hour. My hair does better with the heat from the dryer though.

I was just thinking the same thing about your hair!

Ok back on topic, Kenra MC is the only condish I use regularly without heat that works on my hair.

Same for me! I usually deep condition with heat, but with Kenra MC, the conditioner works better on my hair with no heat.

I prefer with heat because it works faster. W/o heat I leave the cond in for a couple of hours. It works too.

The heat opens the cuticles of the hair shaft to allow the conditioner to penitrate into the hair. Without heat the conditioner is only coating the hair and repairing the surface of the hair. You can tell by the amount of conditioner you have to rinse conpared to the heat method.

My hair comes out much softer when I use heat. On the days that I don't I'll put a skully cap or head wrap on top of the plastic cap. I still prefer the hair dryer though.

I use heat... I'll *warm* my conditioner in the microwave, then apply to my hair, cover with a plastic cap. Works BETTER than the hooded dryer... (( & far more convenient too!!))

If I don't warm, then I'll still get pretty good conditioning... warming allows the conditioner to penetrate better, making my hair feel like butta!

I've always liked using heat. Lately I've been dcing overnight with a plastic cap and then a scarf on top of that so I think my body heat has been doing a good job. I really like the slippery feel I get when I use the hooded dryer though.
