Yes, they have a whole rack section (top to bottom) with Dom products. This is where I bought Miss Key and Silcone Mix conditioners. They have shampoos, conditioner, treatments but I haven't tried anything else, but many of the names I remember being mentioned here.

There's another major BSS on Georgia Ave, next to the new McDonald's called Beauty Mart of something like that. I walk past there almost daily, you'd think I know the name, but they have a lot of Dominican products.

There are also other BSS's in the area that sell Dominican Products:

Beauty Depot on Queen's Chapel Road in Hyattsville
Beauty Island on New Hampshire and University Blvd. in Takoma Park/Langley Park crossroads (the shopping center with Safeway, Starbucks)
Wheaton Plaza Mall, lower level as you walk out of JC Penny's

In Silver Spring, many of the Dominican salons sale Dominican products like Silicon Mix, Salerm 21 (not Dominican but widely used), and Praito (sp?).

Mary's on Fenton has Alter Ego and others

Almost across the street from AFI, there's another Dominican beauty salon (can't remember name) that sells Dominican products. In fact, all in that area there are Dominican shops that sell various products, but are limited.

That's also my favorite place to get Dominican products. My top choice is Beauty Island on New Hampshire/Univ. Blvd. strip mall. What Wheaton doesn't have, the Beauty Island does.

I guess there needs to me many more BSS's with Dominican products. I'm shocked that with all the Domicans that live around here, there aren't more shops.

I've thought about checking out some of the BSS's in areas like Laurel where there is a large population of Dominicans.

thanks....looks like i might have to save this thread.

PG Plaza also sells some dominican products. I forget the name but its on the outside of the mall by Catherines

I used to live in that area when I was in school and got all my hair products from that BSS. Never knew they had Dominicans. It's been a long time since I've gone there, but I'm thrilled to learn this.

Thanks so much! ;)

I haven't been to a BSS since I've been up here in D.C. I miss walking into a BSS and just browsing, reading ingredients, sniffing products, while not even buying anything . BSS browsing is a hobby :).

I actually wouldn't mind getting some Lacio Lacio though.

ETA: I just looked up the Wheaton Mall on the DC Metro website, and it seems as if the Wheaton Plaza Shopping Center is metro accessible. Yippy!!!!! I will be hitting up the Wheaton Plaza/Mall next week; or better yet, I may go tomorrow instead of going to the Fashion Centre @ Pentagon City.

I went to that BSS in the Wheaton Mall today, and I've never seen so many Dominican products before. I've tried some Dominican samples before, and they were nice. I bought a bottle of Lacio Lacio and a 16oz of the Tropical "Bano De Crema Aguacate" (Avocado Intensive Conditioner Cream).

I will deep condition with the Avocado stuff tomorrow and use the Lacio Lacio as a leave-in.

They even had a gigantic tub of Silicon Mix , huge! Next time I go, I might get the smaller jar of Silicon Mix. I've tried the sample before and liked it, even though it contained mineral oil.
