Days like These I Were Natural!!

URGHH!!! I think the hair gods hate me. I have had many, many, many bad luck events and setbacks. I had a pink CHI literally melt into my hair because of a defect and I had to cut huge chunks of my hair out. I have had clip in extension disaster where the clips actually ate my hair. I can't do braids and I can't do weaves. I can't stretch too much and I can't transition (I tried to for a year and I ended up with less hair than I started with). My hair is coarse (as in texture) but fine in diameter so it's just a hot mess. Everything I do to it makes it come out. I hate it!!!

Well, since hopping back into creamy crackland, I figured the best way to go is expensive. So I decided to use Phtyo. I live in Canada now and things are not as widely available as in the States. Plus everything is more expensive. So I order Phyto from this online rerailer in the beginning of the month. I never thought to actually open it and look at the contents. Well, today I open it because I was about to scoop half out and save it for my next touch up. And lo and behold, I have a freaking old box!! The relaxer has evaporated to a little over the halfway mark. And it's hard and crusty on top, not creamy the way it's supposed to be. :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: So, obviously I can't use a crusty old box of relaxer. So, now I have to call every Sephora in town to see if they have it, and then rush to Sephora and buy it then rush back to my stylist (a new woman who I have no idea if she's going to go for all my rules -- if she doesn't I'm not going to use her). And I'm so pissed. I just wish I could get up and just exist and I didn't have to be going through this. And now I have to fight with this online retailer to get my freaking money back.

I know what you will say ... just go natural. Well, I don't like my natural hair. It's not some deep seeded self hate thing going on, so please no comments to that effect. Because it's not even the texture that I don't like. It's the thinness I hate and the fact that I don't retain length in its natural state and the fact that it's so fragile in its natural state. I won't ever BC so I only have experience with transitioning and I did it for a year and it just didn't work for me. But, right now I just wish I was natural and didn't have to deal with this relaxing bullcrap. :nono: Sorry just venting.

I do know that the PhytoRelaxer expands. I have purchased it before and it was like a little hard crusted layer on the top, but I had no issues using it. In the jar it looks like there is hardly anything in there, but once you add the activator and let it sit for the allotted time, it is more than enough. In fact, I had encountered that several times with various no lye relaxers. Did you try stirring the cream (without adding the activator) to see what happens? Most times it will be the consistency you need.

woo woo woo :bighug:

Thanks guys, I was just ranting .... Well I know that it may expand a bit, but do you think that it should expand so much that it's at the half line? It was a little above the half line. And for a $65 online or $90 (inc. taxes) in Sephora relaxer, I need to be able to use it at least twice. Anyway, I'm home now, relaxed but I let her use Mizani Butter Blends. So I guess I will go with that for now until I can solve this Phyto dilmena. I have used it a couple of times before and it never had that hard crusty overlay and it certainly didn't shrink down by 50%. Anyway, such is life, right?
