My MIL relaxed her hair one day, went to bed and woke up with puffy, red skin around her forehead and ears. Now she usually uses tcb or motions regular. This time she just got what she could and it jacked her up. She said she used this long ago but she didn't have the same reaction. I think maybe they changed something and she was allergic to something in it. It's finally clearing up after about a 2 weeks.

Wanted to add that my MIL doesn't based. She doesn't base with any relaxer :ohwell: She also rinse the perm for the time alloted was up.

Just wanted to warn anyone if they were thinking of using this relaxer.

She could of just had a bad reaction to the perm. It is a chemical which effects us in different ways.
co-signing. It's very possible that there is an element in the this particular product that your MIL may be allergic to.

I told her that I think she probably had an allergic reaction but wow. I don't think she really knows how to do her hair properly. Her hair is always so dry looking. My husband thinks she pulls the relaxer to the ends every time she relaxes. Why someone with sensitive skin doesn't base is beyond me. I think no matter you should always base.

Co-signing on what everyone else said and maybe she didn't rinse it out well enough.

I have two little burns on my forehead the size of a tip of a ballpoint pin from the relaxer the other day (Affirm, regular) That's never happened to me before. I didn't do my hairline before I went to have it relaxed and the stylist sure as heck didn't tell me. I'll be sure do that from now on. I'm sure a little bit of the relaxer hit my forehead and it wasn't washed off.
