Dark and Lovely Reviving Colors

I had an urge because it was on sale at Walgreens. I had been thinking of putting a rinse in my hair because it's so dull and dukey brown looking. I bought the Spiced Auburn color and luckily, it's wash day or I would have put that sucker in before I took my coat off. It is a semi-perm - the box says 6-8 shampoos.

I've searched and there isn't any feedback on this product.

Anyone used it before?
How to prepare for my application?
How to prepare for my results?
Will it help with shine and breakage?
Will my husband and children pass out from laughter?:perplexed

I'm off to do my Saturday sacred wash ritual. Hopefully, I can get some help. I'm such a taker on this forum. Could it be because I ain't got no hair yet?:drunk:

i've used them in the past. i'm indifferent about D&L RC. I liked the shade I used and it does wash out rather quickly. i stopped using D&L RC to go to L'Oreal Colorspa. But no matter what brand I used, the color never fully washes out, there is still a deposit into the hair shaft. D&L RC has less of a residual in the hair and washes out much more completely than some of the others i've tried. My fave in the D&L RC was the violet/purple/plum shade. I don't think they make that shade anymore.

Thanks for the feedback.

I did apply. I am DC'ing right now. I haven't colored - rinsed - my hair since 2002. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.

Thanks to the board, I will at least have help if it looks wack.:ohwell:

I got it because it doesnt have any ammonia or peroxide in it. I used the spice auburn color. Really couldnt see a difference unless im in the sun. Not sure if it will help with the shine and breakage. I just basically followed the directions and just conditioned after i finished. But i do notice after i did it and cowashed like two days after that some more color did come out. I was scared also because i didnt want my hair to come out too red.

I used it once and wasn't impressed at all. At first I had dark shiny black hair and then a few washes later it was gone. Usually rinses hold really well on my hair but not this one.

Okay. Rinsed it out and DC'd, put in a leave in and a serum, blew dry and flatironed. Kind of shinier but I don't see much of a change in color. I'm in my dark bathroom so it could be different in the sun.

Won't use again.

It turned out okay. My dumb butt did an oil rinse and half of it slid off my head. I still have silvers showing in the front. My hair is very healthy looking and picks up a shine with the smallest amount of coconut oil. It's still a little dry so I've dc'ing and moisturizing everyday.

Now that I know that the result is very subtle almost to the point of non-existence. , If I had had a clear option, I would have used it. I will be playing with the colors. I went a little lighter this time. I'll go a little darker next time.

If you want a longer lasting semi-perm color try Clairol Radiance Color Gloss-it's sold at Sally's and maybe other BSS. I never care for D&L b/c it didn't last and if I remember correctly on the rinse out it seemed like the water never turned all the way clear like it does when I use Clairol Beautiful Collection-and it did not last worth a week or so.
