Aww that's exactly how much my hair shrinks...

Our hair is both unique & beautiful BUT this is why I could never go to a salon that treats my hair like straight hair! At her length they should have washed in sections that were loosly braided or something & then attemped to blow it out from a stretched state....

After my hair reached a certain length, when I allowed my hair to shrink up like that I paid for it with single strand knots galore & tears galore trying to detangle it all

I love this pic because it demostrates the uniqueness of our hair but, you know what? I want to see a picture of the salon floor where all the broken hair fell when those "stylists" struggled to blow out all that GORGEOUS kinky hair from it's shrunken state!!

I'm not trying to change the subject or be negative but come on, they have to do better when dealing with our hair....

Oh my gosh! That is some serious shrinkage! My hair shrinks up like that as well, which is why I relax. I couldn't take all the tangles and knotting, and I was just plain mad that I had long hair and noone believed me unless I tortured it to show its length. If I'm going to do the work to grow my hair, I want to show everyone the fruits of my labor! Kudos to her though; she looks like she manages her hair well for it to be so long, full and thick.

This is exactly how my hair is. Shrunken it is a twa straights its bsl.

The visual is killing me. But my hair is like this as well, the shrinkage is crazy. That's why I love 2nd day and beyond when it comes to twist outs. Day one has me looking like Shirley Temple.

My hair is exactly like that. I went to the hair salon to have it straightened for the first time in like 8 months. Well, she washed my hair all together instead of the sections like I do and it shrunk and matted up like crazy so she had to go through and detangle it. While she was going through that process, it took awhile and all of my hair shrunk up into a mini afro. I hadn't seen my length in a while and so at this point I didn't think my hair had grown but when she blew it out???? (see below)

I was amazed and mad as hell at the same time.

My hair is exactly the same when it comes to shrinkage. When I wash or just just let it hang, its barely neck length, but then I do my twists on dry hair and I'm mid-back almost waist length. Anyway, I love this hair diva.

I have shrinkage like that. Less than 2 inches of TWA flat ironed out to this. I have no idea what MBL or WL will look like on me but I'm sure it will be similar

Gorgeous! It's very, very possible. When I was natural, my hair was nearly WL at its longest while straight. However, my un stretched hair never even hit shoulder length. Heck, barely ever hit neck length.
