DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!! Flat ironing made natural hair dry. [false alarm *stooopid*]

It doesn't look damaged or dried out but is sure does feel like it.
I went out and bought some hairmayo for a deep condition. I don't normally like to use deep conditioners but I figure if I'm experiancing some wierd kind of heat damage I could use the protein. After that I drowned my hair in StaSofFro (my pillow and face was so greasy :lachen:); I sprayed it down then used the gel.
It appears that my hair has recovered.

I am not cutting my hair again. I'm going to wait awhile then get a light trim and some braids.

Dang girl! I'm sorry to hear that. I had planned to flatiron my hair next year, but now I'm scurred. :ohwell:
Give us the details on what you used.

Sorry to hear about your heat damage. May I suggest daily conditioner washes and deep treatments until your hair feels moist again? My hair was damaged after I took out drying kinky twists in May, and that made my hair right again. Also, have you tried S curl? I used to swear by SSF until I tried S-curl. I haven't looked back.

natural dry burnt hair has been my middle name for years....
Now I am finally combating it. Whenever I flat iron or press it (which i am trying to eliminate completely) and I am ready to wash out I either a) pre-treat with some hot oil b)kill my hair with conditioner.. and it works!

False alarm y'all. :look:

I *think* it might have been the Redken serum.
Has anyone who ever used the product notice a kinda sticky after feel?

Anyway........my hair is back to normal.
I'm gonna try a different heat protectant next time.
