Damaging ingredients you look for...

when selecting hair products? I girlfriend said last night at dinner that she won't use products if they contain certain ingredients. Now I don't know what to look for in my shampoos, conditioners, and hairdress.

Any advice?

One of them is sodium lauryl sulphate. I hope I'm not getting it mixed up with sodium laureth sulphate, but I'm pretty sure it's the first one that's bad.

Also certain kinds of alcohol. I thought I'd read that on a thread but now I can't find it.
