Daily washing challenge for April anyone?

I'm pretty fed up with my hair at the moment. My hair seems to have been growing riduculously slowly since my last relaxer in January, I've got hardly any new growth. I'm sure it's because of that Elasta QP Lye crap irritating my scalp.

Anyway...

I've decided to try washing my hair every day for a month to see if it grows any faster as I have found that a 2 french plait braidout results in my hair looking acceptable (from the front anyway). I usually wash my hair once or twice a week.

I've actually started already (2 days ago) but will be doing it throughout april.

Anyone want to join me?
If so, post what you'll be using and doing...

I'll be using...

Nexxus Therappe or Superdrug Coconut shampoo to wash daily
Nexxus Humectress or Superdrug Coconut conditioner to condition daily

Weekly deep condition with ORS Hair Mayonnaise, Nexxus Humectress, Superdrug Intensive Coconut, Superdrug Intensive Henna or Le Kair Cholesterol... whichever I feel like doing at the time. In clingfilm and warm towel for at least an hour.

Coconut oil and Elasta QP mango butter when wet then putting in 2 french plaits overnight, taking out in the morning and put on a bit of hair serum.

Hmm... this post is a bit too long...

I am so ready to join you in the challenge. I am extremely dissatified with the current state of my hair right now. I am 6 weeks post relaxer and my 4b hair is very difficult to manage during this stage.

I washed this morning, let air dry then smoothed back into a ponytail.

I'm off to work now. Tonight I will stop at BSS to buy some products.

Have a nice day.

Perfectdoak,

This is a really good challenge and I'd like to join but I really can't see myself washing my hair daily, although I'd love to. Maybe 4 times a week or every other day would be better for me personally.

Anyway, goodluck with your challenge.

Does co-washing count? I'm up for the challenge! I've been co-washing daily and I can tell that it's absolutely beneficial [tons of new growth]! I wash with poo once a week.

Suave Awapuhi Conditioner to co-wash daily
Every night I co-wash with the conditioner and then I either put my hair in bantu knots or in velcro rollers.

NTM Shampoo/Remedi weekly [alternate e/o week] and deep condition with NTM Daily Deep Conditioner.

I agree with Bailey I will do every other day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want about 2 inches by May 14 (only my dreams). SO I am down. I will wash 1x a week with a Pre-poo of EVOO, then Nioxin Smoothing Shampoo, Followed by Nioxin Scalp Therapy then Humecto. As far as other washes they will be co washes probably with Nexxus Humectress!!!!!!!!!! Grow Baby Grow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great suggestion!!

I want to join! I will do daily CO washes (my hair is  this!).

Products I'm using:

Mon - Sat:
CO Washes: DDTA or VO5
Alternating Days: Eqyss Mega-Tek (5 Minutes)
Final Rinse: NTM Daily Deep Conditioner
Leave In: NTM Silk Touch
Oil: Shapley's MTG & ORS Olive Oil Creme
Ends: Tigi Ego Boost

Sun:
Poo: Once a week on Sunday, may switch to every two weeks, it takes my hair 3 days to recover from the shampoo!
Deep Conditionng: Nexxus Emergencee every third week, moisturize w/ORS Olive Oil Deep Penetrating Conditioner using Hair Steamer

Daily Styling:
The Mini Puf (only one 'F' cause my son said my puff isn't fully grown yet.) :look:

I'm in. I'm already washing every day. (no poo though)
I'm doing wash and goes everyday, so I start off with EVOO, then conditioner, then i wash it all out really quickly and then even more quickly put gloss serum and curl definer in.
then i run to work.

On friday or saturday nights, I do a full wash with cholestrol conditioner and olive oil, and i leave it in for a while. I clarify (or try to) with baking soda once a month.

I haven't seen any major growth yet. oh well.

Co-washing is ok. I think it's supposed to be the scalp massaging while washing that's supposed to stimulate growth... and cold water if you rinse with cold water.

I will join as well but I will not be daily washing. I am also on the dominican challenge. I was thinking about doing something similar to this before I saw this thread, since I am trying to stretch my relaxer to 10 weeks this time instead of the normal 6 weeks. I realize two things at this point, I can't wrap my hair during the stretch process once I have a half inch of new growth. So I've been getting my hair washed/set one time per week at the domincan salon around the weekend since that is when I wear my hair down. By mid week I have been washing/protein treatments at home and wearing my hair up until the next time I go to the salon. I think since I'm trying to stretch I will incorporate more co washes throughout the week to help with the new growth.

So here's what I think I'll be doing:
-Dominican salon wash/set for a straight look on thursday or friday.
-Co-wash monday
-Co-wash Tuesday
-Protein treatment on Wednesday or thursday

This also helps me because I started going to the gym regularly and I can't handle all of the sweaty hair. I guess I will have to sacrafice straight and down hair during my stretch and only have it on the weekend.

I'm in. My hair is in the best condition it's evr been!!
Here's my regimine:

Sunday
Shampoo:CON Shampoo & Conditioner
Condition:
Leave-in: Tea w/distilled water & Infusium 23

I wanna join!

It may not be everyday, but at the LEAST every other day. I'm in a baggie challenge, so this is perfect.

I don't know if I'll be doing poo washes or CO washes. Whatever I feel I guess. I change like the wind...

Products... to many to mention. Probably VO5 or Suave Humectant for CO washes.

Post wash... Fantasia IC Aloe leave in, S-Curl, WGO, and mango butter on the ends... Baggie, bun, and done.

Count me in as well. :) Here will be my regimine:

Monday-Friday: V05 Fressia or Hydrators
Saturday: Conditioner wash with V05 Blueberris, Strawberries or Peaches and Creme
Sunday: Creme of Nature poo/con combo (blue one) Lekair Cholesteral (The Green one w/ Aloe Vera)
Daily Leave-in's: S-Curl Moisturizing Spray appied to newgrowth
Protective Styling: Baggie Method w/ EVOO or Vaseline

I will also be joining in on this challenge. It helps with the working out and all of the sweating:).

I will be alternating between Co Washes (Design Essentials Stimulations Deep Conditioner; Moisture Retention Shampoo and Organic Cleansing Shampoo)

We will see:)

I'm in as well. I dont think I have ever officially joined any challenge but this is one I have been thinking about doing for some time. I dont know about every day either but maybe every other day and I plan to condition wash since I have a lot of conditioners I need to use.

Not sure about the regime might just try to use up all the products I already have. God bless you all.

I am currently out of braids but won't be for long....til I get braids put back in, I will be washing my hair every day to every other day. My hair LOVES it!!!

I've been CO washing 6 days a week since the last week in February this year, and haven't had any problems out of my hair, considering the amount of new growth. I tried shampooing every 2 days before, and I had this white buildup on my scalp, so I stopped. My hair was thriving though. Maybe I should try it again for a week, to see what happens. Anyway, this is my regimen I've been on for about a month:

Thurs Night:
-Pre-poo treatment with EVOO and Vatika Oil. Leave on until Friday morning.

Friday Morning:
-Shampoo w/Nexxus Botanoil Shampoo or Nexxus Therappe
-Protein: Nexxus Keraphix (5-10 min)
-Moisture; Nexxus Humectress (5-10 min)
-Hot Oil Treatment: Suave (5 min)

6 Days a Week: CO Wash
-Nexxus Humectress (10 min)
-Hot Oil Treatment: Suave (5 min)

(I will continue my daily CO washes for the rest of the year, and see what happens. I will cover my hair with a headwrap/hat when its cold outside, since I always air dry).

I'm in too. This is perfect because I am getting my hair rebraided tomorrow and I just mixed up a batch of castor oil, WGO, and Glovers. I will probably wash on most days and co wash on some and apply the oils at night. My products will be DDTA, Nioxin, and Garnier Fructis. Q

I've been thinking about this challenge, all day yesterday and today, therefore I think I will give it a try. I mean if my hair starts to rebel I could always stop. So I'm jumping into the challenge.:)

I will be using: Soft & Beautiful Hair Moisturizing Complex conditioner and Nexxus Therappe moisturizing shampoo. I'm also going to use the conditioer as a leave-in moisturizer along with some Infusium 23 Leave-in. I washed in the past two days and I used this and my hair is loving it.

ETA: Care free curl gold hair and scalp spray and Instant activator. Baggie on my ends coated in vaseline or Posner Bergamot.:)

Thank-you for your testimony, i feel so confident now, that i will acheive my hair length goals by following this method. you have gorgeous hair too.

Count me in!!! I've been doing this for almost a month now. I haven't seen any dramatic changes in my hair, but I do enjoy the CO washes. I usually use whatever condition I can get my hands on.

I have been washing my hair every day for the past two years, but I would like to join this challenge.

My favorite hair product is Nioxin Smoothing system. However about a week or two ago, I jacked up my hair by using the Infusium 23 Leave-in treatment (original formula mixed half with filtered water). It left my hair so dry and brittle that it looked like I fried it with a curling iron! WHAAAT?!!!

I did not lose much hair, but I stopped using Infusium altogether and put the Nioxin system on hold.

Here is my regimen for this challenge:

Shampoo: Kemi Oyl No-Soap Shampoo

Conditioner: Kemi-Moyst Conditioner

Deep Conditioner (once a week, 30 minutes, hooded dryer): UBH

Leave-In: a small amount of Kemi-Moyst Conditioner

Moisturizers: Sweet Almond Oil, S-Curl

Hi Sugaplum,
I noticed you listed a leave in that included tea. Do you do this for color purposes?

Count me in. I will most likely be washing everyother day. I won't be using Shampoo everyday. I will most likely sleep w/ conditioner in then rinse in the morning in the shower, and letting my hair air dry in a bun. I'm not sure what products I will be using I need to use up my humectress so i can get a new bottle, Cholesterol w/ placenta & jojoba oil, Creme of Nature Nurishing conditioner, Elasta Qp Intense.
Air drying in a bun, I will spray on Hask Placenta no rinse hair treatment.Infusium 23I will use a hairdressing I made from Shealoe Butter, Elasta Qp Recover, and Gensing Miracle wonder 8 Oil.. I will probably be adding more conditioners, and maybe a shmpoo B/C I will be going to the BSS Tomorrow..not that I need anything else.
