do I apply the co before I get in the shower or while I am in the shower? How long do I let it remain in the hair?

Thanks in advance ladies

Hey girl,
As far as I know, most folks complete their shampoo process as usual and simply replace the shampoo with conditioner.
I.E. wet hair, "poo" with DDTA or Suave, rinse, con with Humectress or Mane & Tail, rinse, style as usual
HTH...

when I CW, I like to apply a bit of conditioner to dry hair and do a mini-deep condition (usually 30 mins with a plastic cap), then hop in the shower and wash. Works great for me.

candita thanks! my hair is super dry so this will def. help.....thank you!

My personal results are always better when I apply my conditioner to dry hair and let it sit for several minutes before rinsing it out. I try to leave some of the conditioner in by not rinsing it all out but if I feel as though I have rinsed it all out, I simply add a little after I've rinsed.

This is the method I use and it works great for me.

After wetting my hair, I put a generous amount of conditioner in my hands and work it on my scalp, using the tips of my fingers to scrub away any dirt/oils. Then I put some MORE conditioner on my hands and apply it to the length of my hair. I allow the conditioner to do its stuff while I wash my body. Then I rinse. I use DDTA (Daily Defense Tender Apple Conditioner--available at Big Lots) for my cw's. It's an awesome conditioner and provides great slip.

I love  conditioner only washes, I rarely use shampoo. Here is the way that I do it.

Step one: I wet my hair throughly
Step two: I apply lots on cone-free conditioner such as Garnier Fruitis (for fine hair, Suave Coconut, White Rain Extra Body Conditioner)
Step thee: Rinse throughly

Once this process is done I repeat a final time but I don't rinse out the conditioner. I add a little oil to my wet mane and that's it.:)

I wet my hair then apply the conditioner. I may try the other method recommended hair. In which you apply the conditioner to dry hair then let it sit for a few minutes.

I wet my hair then cw. I may try applying it to dry hair first, sit, then rinse off. I don't apply extra conditioner after doing a cw, I just rinse and style.

I get the best results doing the following:
1. Rinse very thoroughly with warm water
2. Squeeze water out of hair, sometimes lightly towel drying
3. Apply conditioner and leave-in while showering, or for a few minutes if washing in the sink.
4. Rinse with lukewarm water
5. Rinse with cool water

i just started doing co washes and im loving them...i havent had a relaxer since May and i cant comb thru my hair because i have a like a 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch of new growth...im undecided on rather i want to relax my hair right now...so what i do to soften my hair...i was actually the other day was able to plait my hair in braids all over...

1. I put a conditioner on my hair for 30 minutes and put a plastic cap over it.
2. Then i rinse the conditioner out...shampoo the hair
3. Then i sit under a dryer for like 30 to 45 minutes for deep conditioning
4. Then i rinse the deep conditioner
5. apply infusim 23 leave in conditioner
6. apply some oil..tie up in a scarf and then let it air dry

i try to do this every 3 to 4 days...so i'll be doing it today because my hair is itching like crazy...

Love love love Daily Defense! I don't use tender apple but the conditioner is definitely a keep when it come to CWs :p .

I usually put in conditioner and olive oil then shower cap for 15-20 minutes before I CW (or sometimes over night) then I get in the shower and rinse, detangle and air dry in a bun.
