Okay, I've heard over and over the wonders of conditioner washes on this board. I'm not disputing anyone's claims when it's spoken of as the answering to conquering that new growth either. But I just wanna get some advice on whether it would be fine for me to try it. Lemme explain my situation (and I apologize in advance for being dramatic about it all:look: ). I exercise several times a week and I sweat a whole lot. I like to shampoo once a week to keep my scalp clean. Although I'm only 6 weeks into a relaxer, it feels alot more like 8 weeks. I'd love to give the conditioner wash a try but I'm concerned that it's just not going to cleanse my scalp all that much. I'm afraid it will cause some kind of nasty, greasy, salty build-up instead of really cleansing it. I'm guessing that some of you ladies probably don't exercise (not implying that you're fat or anything) as many times a week as I do so a conditioner wash for some of you would be fine since you wouldn't have the sweaty scalp that I'm prone to. Can anyone give me a suggestion on what to do? Conditioner washing for a serial exerciser: yea or nay?

I say you should give it a try and see what happens with your hair, if your not satisfied you can stop, because one week will not cause crazy build up...just see what happens

I exercise 4-5 times a week and I sweat a lot during my workouts, so I could not imagine cleaning my scalp and hair only once a week. I wash my hair twice a week but lately since the weather is cold I have been CW every three days (I don't want to dry it out from shampooing too often). What I do is I rinse my hair thoroughly, then "wash" it with conditioner. In end my hair feels super moisturized and it is not weighed down. Like they say, "don't knock it till you try it" :)

I exercise 3-4 times a week. I usually do 1 conditioning wash first... then a shampoo (1 lather) with only a little bit of shampoo and then 2 more CW

This way I feel confident that I have "cleansed" my scalp but yet I am still getting the soft hair I want

I used to, and will hopefully be getting back to exercising 5-6 days a week- I mean HARD workouts. CWs are fine, and will rinse your scalp and keep it refreshed. Just try not to manipulate too much.
