Ok, I did the big chop in February and then eventually texlaxed. I have been wearing wash-n-go's since then. I live in the Midwest, so it's getting way too cold to sport a wash-n-go. I don't wanna flat iron right now cuz that just seems to make my hair so fragile. My hair is too short pull back in a pony or a bun. I wore big braids for a week, then twists for a little while but I'm tired of wearing the same old styles. Guess I'm just frustrated because I feel like my hair is growing so slow. Any style suggestions?

Oh my Goodness you hair is cute. How did you texlax. What relaxer did you use? How long did you leave it in.

Tell, Me, Tell, Me please!!!!

I wish I could do the boring twists U don't seem happy with. I just wanted to tell U that your style looks great! U could do rock that style until your hair grows longer. If you don't want that you can rock some wigs or a weave style.

I wasn't expecting all of the compliments....thanks ladies! Maybe I'll wear the twists a little while longer..:look: I used Silk Elements mild relaxer from Sally's and mixed it with about 1/2 cup of olive oil. I usually coat my ends with a protein conditioner like salerm 21 or cholesterol conditioner. I leave it on for about 15, without really combing through each section.

I was looking through some old pictures of when I first did the big chop, and it made me realize that I should be proud of the growth that I have had over the past 10 months. It is easy to get discouraged when you're at chin length and you see ladies with mid-back length hair. I think I'm gonna make a journal to help me stay motivated.

Thanks for the encouragement....maybe soon I'll be asking about styles for shoulder length hair! :yep:

I'm sorry we are not helping you with suggestions but I just had to say that you are rockin' that short short cut. I LOVE the small curls. Not everyone can go that short.

LOVE IT!

I think your hair looks super cute the way it is! It is a style you will be able to wear as it grows longer and longer too! Except once it starts brushing your shoulders u will probably want to clip it up more so the ends dont rub your clothes and split/break.
