Cut Your Hair at a certain age???

Definately not,

Will be taking my grey waistlength (when I get there) hair to my grave. I am actually growing my hair out for buns, so for me it will be exotic buns at that age.

I remember a few years ago Oprah having a show on this very subject, where she declared, "The older a woman gets, the shorter her hair should be," and mentioned how older women with long flowing locks reminded her of the Wicked Witch. I see her theory didn't go very far given her current hair length and age.

Personally, I don't see a correlation between hair length and age, but I do see a relationship between hair style and one's perceived age (the age people assume you to be when they look at you). In other words, seeing a mature face with a young-ish hair style (and young-ish clothing) can be discomforting. At least, for me it is.

Personally, I think you should do whatever you want to do with your hair and not worry about age and what others think. I'm 21 and I'm a couple inches from BSL. I want to achieve full BSL within the next two years. Then I want to do a short cut just because I want to rock a short hair look for awhile and see how it looks on me. After that, perhaps I will start my transition, which is what I ultimately want to do. I don't care how old I am, I want a head full of luscious curls.

It really does depend on the person. My mother (62) and maternal grandmother (82) both have a good length hair. My mother was just cut back to APL, which is her fullest length, and my grandmother has been WL for who knows how long.

In the pics above, which I love, btw, the women have stronger jawlines that can support such a length. Not every woman has that type of face, and some would look quite silly with such a cut. Women have to be comfortable in whole, my mother won't cut her hair above a certain length because she feels naked (her words). I respect that.

Now I, on the other hand, will cut my hair to any ol darn length I feel, but for right now I'm on a grow mission. And I just turned 30, and have no plans to cut this hair ANY TIME soon .

I don't see women really wearing short hair back home even if they are old as dirt they still have long hair.
