Hey ladies need some advice...

I am thinking of ordering some hair from www.realhairexclusive.com for my next install in Feb. They are based in Holland and I am based in UK/ France so I am hoping the shipping will be easier/ faster and no customs declarations etc.

I have fine 4a/4b hair and wanted to mix together two textures of hair they sell as follows:

As such I wanted to put this hair at the front and this hair at the back...

What do you ladies think??? Do you think I will get away with it and that it will work/ blend together or are the textures just too dissimilar....???

BTW my rationale for doing this is to be able to blend my own natural 4a/4b transitioning hair at the front with the weave with minim heat usage.

TIA Ladies x

ETA: I got my inspiration from this thread by Ediese:

Well the hair in the second picture looks silkier than the first. If you did one in the front and one in the back it might be very obvious looking because one type will be silky/shiny and the other would be dull. I would just go with one or the other.

Thanks Glamazon - see this is what I was thinking also .

I know that Ediese used the silkier kind in the back of her hair (I think) and used AAMH for the front. I just wanted to avoid shipping charges to the UK from the US, but me thinks I will have to look into the AAMH ...

disclaimer: I'm certainly not a weave expert.
i agree with glamazon. i would go with the first kind alone, since it'd be easier to blend. is it the length or something that makes you want to mix the two?
it MIGHT work if you were to alternate the rows....such as put one row of the first, one row of the second, and so on and so forth.

Thanks Rocky - not so much the length - I just want to make the weave easier to manage as obviously the more highly kinky it will be the more of a nightmare it will be to wash/ DC or de-tangle on a daily basis.

BTW - the alternating rows sounds like a good idea.... hmmmm.....

hmmmm....it MIGHT be easier to manage. but in the long run, i find that any kind of curly hair is a beast unless you take regular care of it. i had like silky waves/curls in a weave once, and they still needed regular DC'ing, or it looked horrible. so just an FYI.

That's what I was thinking. But OP why do you need to mix the hair? I thought Ediese just did it bc that's what she happened to have on hand at the time. I know some people put a different texture on the top like just a piece or two to blend better with their hair but that's just a small amount - not half and half. I've never mixed 2 different hairs though.

You're right. You have to stay on top of maintenance or it will be a beast. :yep: And some times that maintenance alone in a pain in the butt. That's why my weave is in a bun most of the time.

Glamazon, thanks for clarifying that. I thought she used the two textures for blend-ability. Didn't realise it was to use up some hair !

Anyways I agree with you ladies gonna stick to the first one as that is closer to my 4a/b hair and will be more be-weaveable.

Okay so I am actually still going to go with a mix. But this time I will mix the www.realhairexclusives.com hair with the allaboutmyhair.com hair as follows;

At the front I will use two tracks of RHE Curly Kinky Afro hair.

At the back the majority of the hair will be the AAMH Remy Kinky Curly hair.

Glamazon and Rocky thanks so much for your help.

I think I will also PM Ediese to see what she thinks.

Thanks once again ladies !

Hi Stella,

I decided to mix the hair because I wanted the length to be about BSL, and the AAMH was about APL in the back and shorter in the front. Also, I wanted something that would be more free flowing and growing down, and not more of the big and out look that I had previously.

I knew the curly kinki from RHE alone wouldn't blend with my 4a hair, so I decided to use a couple tracks of the AAMH and mix it. That helped with it blending with my hair at the top, and in turn, it also blended pretty well with the RHE.

I'll tell you honestly, I've seen the RHE Afro kinky curly and the regular kinky curly. They would NOT blend well, so I would never advice you to do that. If the reason you're trying to mix the brands is simply for blending purposes and not length, I'd suggest you go with one or the other. I'd prefer the AAMH if I were you. Also, I've seen other natural 4a/4bs and 4b that use the AAMH, and didn't have a hard time with blending.

ETA: I was not impressed with the afro kinky curly hair AT ALL. It looked pretty dry and seems like it would take a lot of time and energy to maintain. I'm not sure if you saw my last Halleys Curls Creole Curly install? I found out that Halleys Curls came out with a new kinky curl that I'm thinking about trying next. It's suppose to be available on 1/15, but I didn't see it on there site. You could check out the pics here. http://public.fotki.com/HalleysCurls/natural/
I think that could also be an option for you. It's not as curly as the last hair that I got, and I think it'd blend with your 4a/4b hair.

Ediese thanks so much :hug3:

Its so hard to imagine what the hair will look like in the flesh so I am so grateful to have someone who has had experience with the hair who can give me first hand advice. I think I will leave the RHE hair alone and go with the AAMH hair on its own and then do braid outs on any hair that is left out to allow me to blend.

I will also look into the HC Creole curly ...

Thanks once again :thankyou:

Ediese, I should've asked you about this before I ordered. I ordered the kinky curly and afro curly from RHO thinking that it would blend ,but now you say it doesn't blend. Now I'm going to have to purchase more hair :-(

I think the new Natural texture is on the site now. They're missing a photo of the hair but seems like you can still buy it.
