Has anyone ever had a rod set turn out good with medium length hair?

I need some inspiration and some photos for inspiration.

I’ve done a perm rod set numerous of times and I’ve just done a straw set, however, I don’t have medium length hair…more like shoulder length. There are pictures of the perm rod set in my 2004 album and pictures of my straw set in my 2005 album. Can you describe, or post a picture of what it is exactly that you are looking for?

Thanks Loverly, Your rod set, looks like the one that I used to get at the salon. What size rods did you use and products?

I used orange. Do you have any pictures with the rods in so I can get a better view of placement.

I am trying to choose a summer style that will be cute and last a long time. I have had a hair cut every summer for the past 3 years due to split ends and breakage and this time around, I am determined not to have that again

I had my hair set on rods when I got my hair cut to about ear lob length, I loved the style on my short hair. Sorry no pics, I was not into taking pics of my hair then. Give it a try I am sure it would turn out beautiful. Good luck

For my rod set I used pink (95% of them are pink) and blue rods (the blue are the third size from being extra small), Lottabody setting solution, grease for my new growth, and moisturizer for my scalp. HTH. PM me if you need directions.

Your procedure sounds like mine. I used lottabody, grease, and moisturizer. I think that the rods were too big and the placement was wrong. I am going to try again after I get some different size rods.

Did you use the curved (hard plastic) rods or the soft rods (flexi)
