I'm not straightening for a while because if you recall my last post, I'm on a mission to lose weight. I'm into a heavy exercise rotation and I'd sweat out any type of straightened hairdo at this point.

I rarely wear my hair out (mostly buns like my siggie) but I was excited about having 2nd day hair today. When I took a picture, I noticed how much it's grown. Just wanted to share.

Unintentional layered cut

2nd day TNC - My layers are growing longer. :yay:

I can't wait to see it straight.

wavezncurlz, it looks so long! :notworthy

OT Daeuiel, I keep expecting you to appear on the sci-fi channel anytime now or the next action hero movie. I have always wanted to know someone with powers. Do you charge to make things happen and do you charge more if the favor asked is evil? J/K

I'm still weighing my options when it comes to my television and movie career. :giggle:

People with powers are just like everyone else. :yep:

:sekret: Listen, I don't do evil, no matter how much folks are offering. PM me though. :sekret:

Your hair has really grown in a short amount of time. I love it!!! Are you trying to grow the layers out?

Me either!! :yay:

:look: Is that weird?

Your hair has definitely grown and looks thick & healthy :)

Nah - not weird! Just like I can't wait to see who you're hanging out with next on your siggie! :):lick:

Pretty  How long do you think it will be straightened?
Thanks - I don't know. I tried to take the longest layer and stretch it down my back. It's past my bra but not far as midback. I was wl when I got it cut.

Beautiful! :yep:
Girl, your hair is lovely!!!! And, it's growing like weeds!!!! FABULOUS!!!
your curls look gorgeous and super healthy!!!! ^_^

Your curly hair is amazing!!!

Thanks for the love ladies!

Not yet. I think my hair kind of grows in layers anyway. It's always growing in a v so I feel like I can keep my longest layer so I can claim longer lengths when I straighten.:lachen:

Wow - the growth is really noticeable for such a short time period! And gorgeous, as usual.

Thanks. I didn't notice until I walked past a mirror and saw the back layer. From the front, it still looks shoulder length.

Nice. I always get excited when I notice my hair is longer when curly. Your curls are so shiny

I know huh? When I reached WL last time, I still had shoulder length curls. My hair doesn't hang much.

Beautiful wavencurlz!!!!

I can definitely see the growth. Congrats.

Thanks!

Your curls are so beautifully defined and moisturized!! I'd love to know your regimen!!

biancaelyse and others who've PM'd me:

Honestly, I haven't done much but leave it alone. I have been eating better, exercising, and losing weight - maybe that's helped. I was so stressed before and not very healthy - that couldn't have been good for me.

It was really short and I couldn't pull it into a ponytail or anything at first. When I got enough hair to pull up I used my hairsticks. I wet bun most mornings. When we had a cold spell, I tried to just smoothed it back into a bun without water and little product.

I rarely wear it out but when I do, it's done with twist and curl (CurlyNikki style) because I have much less definition when I just wash and go.

I co-wash a lot and use mostly butters and qhemet's cocoa detangling ghee is still my favorite as it grows out. I have fine, tangle-y hair so I prefer keeping it out of the way and stretched out in buns or french braids.

I straighten rarely. I used to do a lot of Dominican Blowouts and I lost a lot of curl. My hair was wavy at most. I babied it for at least 2 years, slowly got rid of the heat damaged ends and I'm finally seeing some more defined curls.

I think the key for me has been to just let it do what it do! Sorry - no holy grail or ingenious regimen. Pretty boring. I hope that helps!
