Hi,

I'm a newbie that lurks way more than I can post . I am trying to find my staples and establish a regimen and have gotten great tips and product suggestions.

I notice that some of you stay away from the Domincam products while other love them. Do you mind sharing why? Is it ingredients? Bad experience? Just love other stuff?

Thanks In Advance

First of all WELCOME!!!

Okay about the products.....

I don't use Dominican products. I've never tried them. I'm not necessarily against them. I just like using products that I can easily find in a local store. I don't like being dependent on things I have to order online (and pay shipping on).

Welcome!

I don't use dominican products because I prefer making my products from raw materials to buying them.

WELCOME TO THE BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!

My main love is Aveda but I llike Lacio Lacio as a leave in cos its light and leaves my hair silky

Welcome to the board!

I don't think members are necessarily against Dom products. The only thing that I know that people don't like about Dom products is the fact that they tend to be full of cones.

I just don't think about it. I have looked at some of the ingredients, and in some cases, I know they don't agree with my hair. Also I'd have to order online, which I avoid when possible.

I have no preference if the ingredient list is good but most of the Domincan products that I have looked at lately have mineral oil in them.:nono:

I love Dominican products. It's a matter of preference and what works for your hair. I use Aveda and other products as well. It just depends on what my hair needs. Oh, and mineral oil is not a problem for me.

I lub lub lub my "dominican" products!

It is a matter of preference. The mineral oil and lanolin do not give me ill effects because I chelate weekly( hard water). I do not use them on my scalp. I grew up on Dax and my hair always thrived with it. I also tend to add my own oil mixtures to them.I use and love them but I do avoid certain types:

i.e.

I do avoid mineral oil and petroleum in "leave in" products.

silicon mix= mostly keratin, silicone and mineral oil basically= dry city for me

anything that has wax, vaseline/petroleum leads to dry hair for me

miss key- wheat protein in them acts like a medium/heavy protein on me:nono:

the shampoos are harsh! just like those sulfate free organic ones :nono:

things formulated for an oily scalp/hair

For me, I wasn't using them b/c I didn't have easy access to them. I hate having to order them online, and I don't even know where to go to get them in my area (MD)

but curiousity got the best of me, I ordered silicon mix and then 10 en1, and I can't imagine living without 10 en 1 now.....:nono:

I don't use Dominican products cause most of them are full of crap. Mineral oil+petroleum+lanolin+tons of cones=shiny but super dry hair :ohwell:
