Beautiful post, the scripture says it is "of great worth in God's sight"...He calls it unfading beauty. Thank you, we can all benefit from this. We live in a culture where women have learned to be aggressive.

Meekness is not weakness but strength under control. Decide to trust God's way today and not your own.- Joyce Meyer

It's an old article, but very applicable...

So...I had to do some more reading on this and I think it's important to also understand that this is not cut and dry...meaning that all women are to have a "shy" personality but rather a gentle and meek spirit. There is no cookie cutter personality for all women to have. I think if u look at the surrounding scriptures about adornment, this addresses something deeper, namely-the heart. God does not look at the outer appearence...like the fig tree...he is looking for fruit. So, this scripture is about bearing fruit. We can talk, and laugh, and make jokes! It's not about legalism, He just wants the inside of the cup to be clean, not just the outside which is a repeating concept. God looks at the heart...I'm beginning to think the whole new testament is about the heart!

I've been working at this myself. I'll say you've already began by virtue of the fact that you are willing. I believe it will be profitable to study and meditate on 1 Peter 3 (the verse about meek and quiet spirit) and other verses. Look at the life of Jesus as an example (He knew when to speak up for sure), choose one of the verses you've studied and memorize it. What you may find happening is that the Spirit use it to 'nudge' you when you've gone off track. Examine yourself and when you think you've responded incorrectly to something rethink how it could have been done, repent and apologise if necessary and keep on practicing, practicing, practicing.

Got to rush. HTH
