I am doing crochet braids for all of 2021 or at least that is my goal. I am on style number two. My natural hair underneath is about four inches long. I am new to the crochet game and love it so far. I maintain it by shampooing and conditioning three times during the time I have it in. I have a liquid leave-in for my hair and a liquid oil for my scalp. I am light-handed with the products. This go around I picked Ocean Wave hair which I am not so fond of, but I'm still rockin' it! Are there any other ladies here doing crochets this year? I will come back and post pictures.

Glad I stumbled on this thread because I'm doing my first set tomorrow. Will report back.

I've been doing these for my mother. Im putting another set in for her today.

How long do you leave yours in?

I’m trying to do some crochet faux locs w/human hair but I’m dragging my hind parts.

As someone who does not cornrow, that sounds like a whole job and a half!!! Whew!
It is but I’m doing the individual wrap around method. The only reason why I’m doing it is because I wanna keep them in for a long time lol.

I just got mine done a week ago. I am leaving them in for about 6 weeks.

How do you all tend to your hair to ensure it remains hydrated?

We spray our scalp. Part your hair and spray. Some people wash their hair in crochet braids and others don’t. It depends on what works for you and your lifestyle.
