Credit Card Hacked buying Hair Products

Hi Ladies,

Happy New Year. Just want all of you to be aware that I recently purchased hair products from BLUEBEEZ.COM AND BEEMINEPRODUCTS.COM both on the same day. My credit card information was subsequently stolen and charges were made online for almost $900. Fortunately, it was caught in time and no real damage was done. However these are the only places "out of my norm" where I used my credit card. Please be careful when using a credit card on any site. I have used Bluebeez in the past with no problems so I am more inclined to think it was the other site. But you never know.

I know you're trying to help people, but I don't think you should have just put the sites out there like that. There's a million and one ways that hackers/identity thieves can get your information. It could even be an issue with your bank. I know because I've been a victim more than once. The first time I was a victim of identity theft, I had just turned 18 and had never purchased anything online in my life. The next time, it was a Chase account, and the last time, it was a Bank of America credit card. In each situation, it was resolved, but there's no way to trace the source of the theft.

I've shopped on both Bluebeez and Bee Mine w/ no problems.

yeah, I use paypal when purchasing Bee Mine. I purchased directly from Bluebeez, but you can also go through Amazon to purchase from BlueBeez, which is much more secure. OP, I feel your pain. It's extremely stressful going through something like this.

Well I didn't order from those sites but I did a lot of shopping over the holiday season I'm going to check my information just in case, thanks OP! Oh and I'm also sorry about your predicament.

I think someone else posted awhile back about after purchasing from Bluebeez they had fraud issues. In any event, sorry this happened, I always use Paypal online if avail. I've ordered from both & had no probs, but if they offered PP i used that service.

Never purchase from a website who's checkout page doesnt say "https" . If it says "http" don't purchase cuz it means its not secure

Sorry that happened to you OP but glad it's straight. I'm leery of paypal, I never store my card info. My friend had her card info stored in there and got hit with a bunch of fraud charges that took forever for Paypal to help with.

I've never used those sites before but I have been a victim of identity theft twice. Now I always use paypal for everything I buy online. Im glad they were able to get things done before too much damage was done.

If your computer is not secure (updated, anti virus software) couldn't that also make your information susceptible to hackers?

Thank for letting us know and putting the site out there. It helps more than it hurts. I recently ordered from them and will be monitoring my account. How long did the hacking happen after you ordered? Makes me want to change my credit card....

Yes. That's why it's soooo important to keep ALL software properly updated, not just the virus protection. Not installing an update could leave you open to all sorts of mayhem.

I've been to a few sites that won't have it on the initial page but did on the shopping cart portion. With Bluebeez (sorry guys) I was able to get to the very last page and it had no security or encryption (that I could see without looking at the code.)

EDTA: If you're going to do any kind of e-commerce please do it the right way. I can't tell you how many cheapskates I've run across that didn't want to pay for security. It's not just for their benefit but for the consumer's as well.

Sorry op that this has happened to you, it has happened to me 2x ( not with these companies) Now when i purchase online i use paypal ( not linked to my bank account) or a prepaid visa card. I haven't had any problems since doing this.

wow that is unfortunate but i'm happy it was resolved quickly. i thought all secure paysites had the little padlock thingy at the beginning and end. i guess it depends on ur browser. and i do not like sites that are behind the times and don't use paypal. they must not want my money if they can't keep up and provide security for their customers. ♥

PayPal accounts can be hacked too. In fact, someone hacked my PayPal account and bought some products right after Christmas. The transaction was in euros and the product was delivered to an international address. I have no idea how they did it. :perplexed I just got my money credited back to my account today. I had to wait 10 days for PayPal to do an investigation. PayPal gave me the runaround for a couple days, but I got my money back.

It was 2 weeks later. Ladies it could have been a number of things. I just know I went to two sites where I normally don't purchase from so I thought I'd make you all aware. :yep:

thanks again for posting, jdenni. they got me too. i ordered from my phone and didn't notice that it was a secure site. i have been monitoring my account and noticed they took about $20, which is so random. thanks to this post, i was looking for any weird activity. i just cancelled my card and they are sending a new one. thanks again, i really appreciate it.

I wonder if this explains the credit fraud I dealt with in late November. Three weeks earlier I bought my Mizani Butter Blends off of Bluebeez. Guess I'll be purchasing off of Amazon from now on just to be safe. Thanks for posting :yep:
