Beauty IS skin deep.
I was thinking about going back to the relaxed states. Okay, I haven't had a relaxer since Oct 2006. So you can see, it's been a year and a half since I had one. Now my question is this: if I were to get one anytime soon, would I apply the relaxer to my roots only or would I apply it to the lengths as well? Thanks in advance!!!

Since you are fully natural. You would apply it to the length of your hair.

ETA:

Are you totally natural?

Well, I can't say for sure. I just know I haven't had a relaxer for that long, but I didn't do a BC or anything like that to make sure I would grow my hair back in completely natural. The reason I ask is because the lengths of my hair sure look like they could use the relaxer too, as well as the roots.

I would take it through the length, applying it to the ends last.

Id only apply to the new growth. If you have a full head of natural hair then relax the whole thing :yep: Relax your weakest parts last. Im not sure what those are for you (nape, edges, crown, etc)

If you have any relaxed ends, please find where your relaxed ends start. Relaxed hair is still relaxed hair, and doesn't need to be relaxed again unless it was severely underprocessed, IMO. I would use some kind of "block" like elucence protective barrier balm on the relaxed ends. The only way I would relax the whole length is if I didn't mind losing that length, due to over processing. Some hairdresser would dispute that though, I am sure.

If you are natural apply to the whole lenght. Do you have any relaxer hair? If so dont relax those ends.

I was there myself and I was 2 1/2 years natural, if I remember correctly. I just happened to have a great stylist who did it for me, man it was alot of hair too. I wore braids and cornrows, the whole time.

Thanks for all of your responses ladies. I'll figure out what I'm going to do. I have to do some more researching before I do anything though. I don't want to make my hair fall out due to improper application procedures.
