@GraceJones
Have you tried:
As I Am Cowash Conditioner
As I Am Cleansing Pudding
Eden's Body Works Cowash Conditioner
Renpure Cleansing Conditioner
SM's Purification Hair Mask

I am an avid cowasher, but I like to use Cowash/Cleansing Conditioners (here are a few I use) as well as the those mentioned above (in no particular order):

Curl Junkie Daily Fix
Darcy Botanicals Cleansing Conditioner
DevaCurl No Poo
Hairveda's Amla Cleanse
Soultanicals Curl Play Cleansing Conditioner
Hydroquench Systems Coconut & Lime Cleansing Conditioner
Claudie's 3n1 Cleansing Conditioner
Claudie's Jojoba Cleansing Conditioner

That's a flag and cowashing may not be suitable for your scalp. When was the last time you used a sulfate shampoo?
I use one every two weeks.

I usually keep braids and co wash 2x a week. Then I'll shampoo when I take my braids out ever 2 weeks.
I use Cantu Leave In in the jar every day and seal with jojoba oil. I also oil my scalp with a mix of coconut oil, jojoba oil, and castor oil every day. Along with that I spray X-Cel 21 Hair Revitalizer every day.

What is the flag?

You are developing build up and inflammation, which will lead to a host of other problems. You are adding product after product in braids, and your scalp is only able to get some relief twice a month. I would stop cowashing in braids, and use a braid spray for moisture. The Cantu is too heavy for braid as well. Rinse if you need hydration.

I agree with short dub about the buildup...especially with Cantu. They tend to have petroleum & mineral oil in their products. I would also suggest giovanni tea tree conditioner. It clears my scalp but keeps my hair conditioned & soft

@GraceJones, check to see if you may be allergic to the coconut oil or some other ingredient. Sometimes we can develop allergies to products we use constantly. Remove one product at a time, wait 14 days and reintroduce the product. Make certain to record the product and your reaction to it.

Recs for a braid spray? I don't think I have an allergy to coconut oil. I've been using it on my scalp for years without a problem. I didn't cowash this week and I noticed my scalp hasn't bothered me

Or just simply incorporate a Cleansing Conditioner and rotate that with whatever cowashes you are currently using to cut down on build up.

Yes, I've stopped co washing. That's helped a lot. My scalp doesn't really itch like that unless I start getting hot/working out and sweating but I think that's normal.
But I need a braid spray for moisture. I've just been doing rinses. Also, I forgot to mention my oil mix contains sulfur. I also added 10 drops of tea tree oil and peppermint oil.

I use the above for braids, protective styles, buns, etc. Even as a leave in. She is having a sale on January 1, perfect time to try them out.
