I'm trying to find a cowash that doesn't leave itchy residue on my scalp. Any suggestions?
I've tried ORS Replenishing Conditioner (the one that smells like oranges) and HE Hello HydrationWhat all have you tried? @GraceJones
Best reminder ever. Especially if you use heavy products on your hair. Also schedule a shampoo regularly in between cowashes.
I use one every two weeks. That's a flag and cowashing may not be suitable for your scalp. When was the last time you used a sulfate shampoo?
You are developing build up and inflammation, which will lead to a host of other problems. You are adding product after product in braids, and your scalp is only able to get some relief twice a month. I would stop cowashing in braids, and use a braid spray for moisture. The Cantu is too heavy for braid as well. Rinse if you need hydration.I use one every two weeks.
I usually keep braids and co wash 2x a week. Then I'll shampoo when I take my braids out ever 2 weeks.
I use Cantu Leave In in the jar every day and seal with jojoba oil. I also oil my scalp with a mix of coconut oil, jojoba oil, and castor oil every day. Along with that I spray X-Cel 21 Hair Revitalizer every day.

OTG Braid Spray: African Royale Braid SprayYes, I've stopped co washing. That's helped a lot. My scalp doesn't really itch like that unless I start getting hot/working out and sweating but I think that's normal.
But I need a braid spray for moisture. I've just been doing rinses. Also, I forgot to mention my oil mix contains sulfur. I also added 10 drops of tea tree oil and peppermint oil.
