I ask because I just stared doing it and sice I have a Twa I have to do it all over my head, What I have been doing is at night I spritz my hair and apply my hair butter and put my plastic cap on, and tie my hair down with my scarf. When I wake up I take it off.

Then around 2o'clockpm before I go get my kids from school I put my Baggie back on and tie my hair down for at least another Hour. Then about 3:30 it is off until I get ready for bed.

I am having no problems but sometimes I wouldn't mind leaving it on all day while I am outside with my Horses & Kids just to protect it from the heat while I am not doing nothing. But I don't want my hair to end up coming out because it can't breathe all day.

Thanks Ladies:)

Hey i just read your post :) I dont use the baggie method for my entire head but i would think a few hours a day would be ok. As long as its not LONG periods of time where your hair cannot 'breathe' it should be ok. The reason i say this is because i have friends who wear quick weaves/wigs while there hair is damp and it starts to have a mildew smell due to lack of Oxygen. Also, you dont want to overcondition, which is where your hair turns a little mushy. Just keep in eye on it.

Umm, I use the baggie method under my quick weave for my hair and I have no complaints about it. I just let my hair air out when I get home and over night. It has done wonders for my hair. I use it all the time except when I get my hair blown out. IMO, keep doing what you do girl!

i usually wear 4 about 3/4 nights a week and my hair loves its! some nights i make holes in it so my hair/scalp still has air... you could maybe try it?

Thanks Ladies! I will try to poke holes in it, But I see that it does hold moisture in my hair because when I wake up and take it off my hair is still moist and kind of damp, so I am guessing that that is how it should be.

I have been baggie-ing my whole head for about a month and a half now, and I have no problems. I do take it of to comb and remoisturize if neccessary every day. I also wash 2x a week. HTH

I don't think so...

Check out adrienne0914 and Chicoro who have been doing this method long term...

Hmmm... I can't wait to be able to put my hair into a ponytail/puff so I can do the baggie method again. Since my hair is relatively short, I may go back to doing the baggie method over my entire head at night. ;)

I used to used the baggy method on wet hair. I will pull back a wet pony tail and put a baggy on the ends and then let it dry. It really helped moisturise my hair and retain lenght, but right in the middle of my hair where the pony tail holder was there were always tangles and I have a bit of breakage in that area, so I would recommend doing the baggy method with air dried hair and then put it in a pony tail and put some s-culr on the ends for added moisture. HTH

I think not. It's kinda like wearing plastic cap with curl activator for the old school jeri curls -- a lot of folks I knew back then whose hair was always short really grew with the 'curl' and I now think because it was getting all that moisture and oil trap in by the plastic cap most of the time . . .

ITA! Those Jherri curl wearers were on to something! I do this method about 2 nights a week and it really has helped with the moisture.

@ NappyParadise, As long as you let your hair breathe a few hours out of the day, there shouldnt be any problems. Keep bagging by all means, the benefits are great! :D

Thinking back to the old Jheri Curl days, I remember how it did major miracles for a lot of people's hair and just grew it like weeds! And it's no doubt attributed to the moisture their hair had and since it wasn't breaking and retaining length, you could actually see the end results. (longer hair)
