Cosby Show Love Lessons only Recently Discovered

You know how when you look at a movie a second time, you notice things you never did before. That's how I felt watching the Cosby show recently.

This was an episode where Rudy brought her little "crush" over to the house. They were playing in the backyard and Claire and Cliff peeped from the window to watch them interact.

Rudy was being particularly bossy - calling him "Bud" when his name was really Kenny (because she preferred it lol), telling him what to do, when to do it and how to do it - because she said so, saying he wanted apple juice and not even giving the boy a chance to say what type of juice he wanted.

Claire was hot :lachen:. She pulled Rudy aside and basically told her that her lack of respect for her friend could cause him to not like her. And you know what, as basic and elementary as that may appear, I think Claire was (whether consciously or not) molding Rudy for the relationships she would have in the future. Just my opinion.

Man, this show was profound on so many levels.

hmmm, 3:00AM, watching The Cosby Show, moved enough to actually create a thread...enlightened.

So, were you drinking or smoking somthing that you shouldn't tell people about sweetie?

:yep:

The Cosby Show had so many good tidbits in it about how to be a GOOD parent, and some of the subtle things that you have to educate your children on so that they can be the best adults that they can be.

Girl, I almost want to do a marathon now, and take notes! :lachen:

But remember Bud (Kenny) was very chauvanistic (sp) because of his brother. So him and Rudy were both strong and very opinionated. I thought they had a cute relationship, he thought he was the boss and she thought she was the boss.

OT - One of my friends is dating someone named Kenny....I call him Bud.....and it caught on, so now several people call him Bud :lachen:

If you think the Cosby show had good life lessons, you should check out Steve Urkle on Family Matters he is off the chart.

:lachen::lachen::lachen:You would think so right lol. My eyes were just opened to the way adult behavior was reflected in Rudy.

True indeed. I'm trying to figure out if this episode was before or after Bud started talking about "a woman's place."
The episode you're talking about is when they first introduced "Bud." And I feel what you're saying about how deep the show is. Bud got his ideas from his older brother and Clair knew that she had to break the cycle of they way that Bud thought so it wouldn't be passed down. Clair was changing the way he would perceive women.
Clair and Heathcliff, changing lives since 1984 lol
