CORNROWS...on wet, damp, or dry hair???

Is it best to do cornrows (with your real hair) on wet, damp, or dry hair???

I plan on getting 6 cornrows every Saturday after my wash day so I can take it down the next day to wear a braidout for the week. Will I have better results if I do this on wet, damp, or dry hair??? And which one will I experience less breakage with???

Thanks in advance!!!

I always have my cornrows done on dry hair. I can't imagine doing all that tugging and pulling on wet hair.

I'm no expert but I do corn roll my hair sometimes. For me damp or dry is better esp if you have alot of newgrowth. Wet seems like it pulls to much.....but maybe if I had a better detangler.

My braid outs come out better when dampened. Maybe you can get it braided dry but apply a setting lotion, moisturizer or leave in for added silkeness and shine.

I don't know if this is better or not, but my stylist ALWAYS does my braids/twists whatever on damp hair. She says that it helps her fingers glide through the hair easier/faster and reduces breakage.
