Ok for those of us in cooler climates, whats your major adjustment in regards to hair in next coming months.

i'll just keep my hair in a bun with a baggie, that way its not on my jacket, and doesnt dry out. My 3month baggie challenge will end up being a staple and continous thing for me.

I will probably be braided up and doing the baggie method on my whole head once a week (I'll have human hair braids, I don't want them to slip out because of the moisture), and once I come out the braids I'll be doing the bun thing with my scarf/headband. I'mma just keep it simple.

Hmmm...this is a good question. I'm thinking of doing my own Kinky Twists or wearing another braid style. :)

maybe y'all can help me out with this, I'm thinking of buying several colorful scarves so I can wear underneath my hat during the wintertime, or does anyone know of any hats with satin lining???

tHIS IS SUCH AN INTERESTING QUESTION! i LIVE IN THE nORTHEAST SO I DEFINITELY KNOW ABOUT THE EXTREME WEATHER. TO BE HONEST THOUGH MY HAIR ACTUALLY THRIVES IN THE COOLER MONTHS. I CAN REALLY DO BETTER WITH MY REGIMINE BECAUSE I CAN GET BACK UNDER MY HOODED DRYER WITHOUT SWEATING - HALLELUJAH! i WILL WASH ABOUT TWO TIMES A WEEK, 'BIG HAIR DAY' ON SUNDAY AND CONDITIONER WASH IF NEEDED MID WEEK. I'LL BREAK OUT ALL MY HEAVY DUTY CONDITIONERS TO USE WITH HEAT ON SUNDAY, DO MY ROLLERSET AND WRAP. I ACTUALLY CAN'T WAIT BECAUSE I'M SICK OF WASH AND GO AND I'M SICK OF TWISTOUTS. WHEN IT GETS REALLY COLD I MAY PIN UP SO ITS OFF MY WOOL SWEATERS AND COATS BUT OTHERWISE I JUST LET IT FALL FROM A NICE TIGHT WRAP. I GET THE MOST COMPLIMENTS ON HAIR HEALTH DURING THE COLDER MONTHS. nO MORE SWEATY ROOTS, NO MORE OIL DRIPPING INSTEAD OF BEING NICELY SOAKED UP -HOORAY FOR BELOW 70 DEGREES...LET IT SNOW,LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, OK MAYBE THAT'S A LITTLE MUCH :D

I am getting some flat twists on Friday after that I will get some more braids and that will last until Thanksgiving then I will get a sew in to last right before Christmas. December until Spring I am wearing braids. My hair gets dry during winter I know I am not the only one.

Last winter (when I BC'd) I got up earlier in order to have time to diffuse my wash 'n go. But now that my hair is considerably longer (Yay!) I plan to wear more two strand twists which will look really cute peeking out from underneath hats. Doing so will also allow me more sleep time. Other than that, I will probably wear more updos to keep the hair from rubbing against my clothes and coats.

Naijaqueen, you can find hats with satin linings, but the brim part will not be lined so you will still need to wear a scarf underneath.

I really worried about what to do for winter , I wear wash and go everyday and I did the bc in june so I have no clue as to what to do in winter .. I will figure out something ...

I'll roller wrap my hair once a week and FLOOD my hair with moisture. I usually look a greasy mess by day 3, LOL

Good thread. Right now I am itching to get out of my braids so that I can begin CO washing everyday. I'm going to see how that goes as it gets colder and if becomes too unpractical then I may look into getting twist sets done (@ the salon, can't do it myself) or going back into either braids or weave.

Nothing special. Definitely braiding this head of hair up for the whole winter..that's 4 months of rest and by Spring 06' (wow, time is flying!),
I will have a good 4-5 inches of new growth which is fine by me. Come
the warm weather again I am going to leave my hair out more often than I did this year, let is breath. People think I'm crazy to keep it braided all the time but they're not the ones who has to deal with it.

I've decided to keep my hair in flattwist, cornrows, or french braids most of the winter only flat ironing after a relaxer to enjoy the fresh flow of newly relaxed hair ;) , which should only be twice this winter since I'll be relaxing only in oct./feb./june. :yay:

I'll be rocking a curly pin-up Monday-Friday and wigging it on weekends. I also plan to wash less frequently to help my hair retain it's natural moisture in the drier climate.

sew in weave until spirng will take out and wear my our hair for two weeks in october and feburary around superbowl and the all star game sense i will be attending both events.

My hair tends to get dry during the winter so I have to use some grease on my ends to keep the moisture after i wash it. I also do not put the heat on as high on my dome dryer.

I may go back to flatironing every other week. On days I don't flatiron I'll just set my pony with rods. Wash and go's have been so easy this summer... I'm going to miss them.:look:

Last year I did my washes at night. My hair was mostly dry by morning and I fluffed it out for a nice fro. This year, I'll either do that again or throw on a wig on really cold days.

I will most likely wear ponytails, and pin it up with bobby pins. I might do a roller set here or there. Last winter I still did co-washes in the morning before slicking it into a ponytail, but that is not the best idea when going out into cold weather. I think I'll do my washes at night instead this year.
