Is there a definitive answer on whether or not this is bad for you. I was at the store today browsing and 95% of the items had mineral oil in them....one would assume if it was bad they wouldn't sell it......but maybe so.
This is just my 2 cents, but I think the mineral oil debate comes down to personal preference. Some people have great results using products with mineral oil, others have problems with it, so it comes down to what your hair likes and what you prefer.
Well, I just went to a health presentation and we learned about mineral oil! I will never use it again. Mineral oil creates a cover over the skin that deprives it from oxygen. Mineral oil is the same as motor oil without the color and some fragrance is added. Try this....put a saltine cracker in some mineral oil and another one in some water. The one with the water will fall apart and the one with the mineral oil will be hard as a brick. That means it's non absorbant. Now I'd be interested to see what it does to hair!!!
it makes my hair feel funny if in some products..funny in a way that it may fall off if i keep using it...other products i dont notice it...if its high up on the list i avoid the product (grease)....
from what i have noticed over the years about any product...hair or not..that wont stop a company from throwing it in the recipe...cuz its bad...they figure everyone wont know or care that its bad so its all good
The only moisturiser that works for me is elasta qp recovery oil moisturiser and it has mineral oil as the first ingredient. Ive tried everything. I plan on trying sth else though cos im scared of this mineral oil stuff
Well I'm using Motions and some prescription medication for my scalp that both have Mineral Oil....I'm wondering if there is a difference based on when you are using the mineral oil ie shampooing or conditioning with it versus using a cream or hairdressing that has it on it.
For me, I can have mineral oil in a deep conditioner as long as it's not the first two ingredients. But as a daily moisturizer, my hair doesn't like it. It just builds up and makes my hair feel funny.
