Do you guys think rollersetting with these would be harder, easier, or about the same as rollersetting with the more common magnetic rollers.

Harder.

And is the purpose for the bottom of the curl to be looser? If you worse all your hair down it's be in that cone shape too, then. /\

And if you do it the other way, wouldn't you kind of create a bubble? :look:

All that's OT, so no one answer. :lachen:

I am just now getting the hang of regular magnetic rollers, and here comes some new ones, lol. I wonder what kind of difference it makes with the curl pattern?

My cousin just got her hair done yesterday using these rollers. But the rollers weren't this color though. She used the purple and yellow colored ones instead. Before yesterday, I had never seen any kind of rollers like these, but I actually watched the stylist as she did her hair.

From the looks of it, it's basically the same as doing a regular rollerset, provided you do it upside down than the way the roller is sitting in the pic. You basically start the ends of your hair near the narrow-mouthed end and then roll upwards to the wide-mouthed end(as if you're doing spiral curls). Then she secured the roller/hair with a duckbill clip and sat her under the dryer.

Me being nosy, I went to the stylist and inquired as to what the purpose were of those rollers in that shape. She said this was another way get those shirley temple-esque curls but with more volume and body closer to the roots while falling in tapered curls at the ends of the hair. HTH any!

After my cousin was done under the dryer, the stylist proceeded to take the rollers down. And mind you, it came out exactly like she said, but was really beautiful too.

Don't know if this is worth anything much, but she also showed me some really fat ones, that looked like some bracelets but were actually rollers too.

And Honeydew, thanks for the picture but do you have a link to where these are sold? The stylist states they're called "Cyclone Rollers" and I haven't found anything even remotely close to that. :( I'd like to have some of these in my stash for when I'm doing rollersets on others' hair. Thanks!

I am interested in finding these too. I like the shirley temple curls, but I don't like trying to roll it myself. But these seem like they would roll like a regular roller. COOL!

These have been around for tens of years. Though I never seen them used. They are not that much more expensive than regualar magnetic rollers.

Interesting. It seems like that would be the opposite of what you want. At least the opposite of what I'd want being natural. I think I'd want the hair next to my roots to lie down more because my roots are usually the puffiest when I try to roller set, or twist, or braid, or anything for that matter. They don't need any more volume. But maybe if a professional did it it would be different.

hmmm. I guess you can turn them upside down and do the reverse :yep:
