Conditioner Wash Before Relaxer?

I'm getting a touch up tomorrow, is it ok to condition wash the day before a touch-up? I've been wearing my hear pulled back all week and would like to wear it down for a Resurrection of Christian Comedy Show that we're having at my church tonight.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Well, I haven't had a relaxer in over a year, but from what I remember, It's best not to wash it before a relaxer. I remember doing that one time and my relaxer didn't take. Maybe someone else will be of more help.

No, I wouldn't do it. Just as naptrl said, the relaxer may not take well. Plus you don't want to aggravate your scalp any.

DO NOT EVER WASH YOUR HAIR BEFORE A RELAXER OR A TOUCH UP. Even if you base it with alot of grease you scalp will be too sensitve and the perm will burn your scalp that is why you aren't suppose to scratch you scalp either because it will "open your scalp" (can't find the right word) and make it really sensitive.

Why wouldn't the relaxer take?????? Moisture stops the relaxation process??

I agree that your head would be on fire if you get any relaxer on it.

I guess it depends if you apply the relaxer to the scalp or not, I don't so it wouldn't matter but if you do, then NO!!!! The manipulating of the scalp might cause scalp burns (nasty things) (if you've never had them, you don't want them, if you have, you KNOW what I'm talking about!).

For the sake of argument, If I were getting my hair done on Saturday, I might do them up until Wednesday.
