so i decided to give in and subscribe and I just wanna say how much LHCF has helped me (proof is in the pictures)

I think i need to revamp my hair products but I don't know where to start. cantu shea butter doesn't seem to work for me anymore and I'm in desperate need of a spritz (i've been using Motions leave-in one). It seems I need sprtizs for moisture to even penetrate my hair then I use other moiterizers. I've been reading about avacado butter and I'm wondering how everyone likes it. I'm going to scour for a Sally's (i go to school here and i'm completely lost) and see what would be good for my hair. I'm wary of deep protein conditioner cause the last one I used caused my hair to break off. And any help to better prevent knots and split ends would be nice too.

Welcome!!! :)

Your hair is very nice. I also want to say, if Cantu is not working for you and it seems harder to get moisture into your hair, then you may need to use a clarifying shampoo (I use Suave Professionals clarifying shampoo). It sounds like you may have product buildup.

Welcome! You have lovely hair.

You say you need a spritz first and then a moisturizer. Have you tried just a little water first and then adding the moisturizer?

thanks for all the replies!

I clarify every two weeks so I'm not sure if that's the problem or not. I'll try a acv and see if that helps any.

When I sprtiz with water it doesn't seem to have any good effects. Many times it makes the other moisterizers I use seem to slip. It takes awhile for my hair to take in product (i think it's the porosity). I suppoose I can try making a homade spritz but I'm at a loss at what to put in it. Is there a place to buy distill water because each store i frequent doesn't seem to have any?

maybe i just need to deep condition more :/

Welcome! As for a spritz a very moisturizing one is Kemi Oyl Conditioning Spray. I'm telling you people are sleeping hard on this product. It may be hard to find but if you do, it's a dream come true. I've been using this for 3 years now and it will be a staple for life. If you spritz then steam your hair or baggy with it, it gives excellent long lasting penetration. I prefer spray moisturizers for the hair sealed with oil and prefer butters for the ends. HTH!
