I'm in desperate need of a good moisturizer. I'm looking for a product that will penetrate the hair shaft and seal the cuticle. It also has to lightweight and non-greasy. Recommendations?

I have relaxed hair, what's your hair type? For me, I found that the best moisturizer was actually deep conditioning after washing. When done well, the effect lasts for days. Also, if you use alot of heat to dry the hair, then that will counteract the good any moisturizer does. If you air dry your hair, putting an oil on top of your moisturizer e.g I like African Royal Hot Six Oil, seals in the moisturizer you put on (moisturizer I use on wet hair is s-curls spray). The hair goes from wet to dry, moisturized.

When wearing the hair straight after rollarsets, again I rely on a good deep moisturizing conditioning. That sets you 'ahead' already. I sometimes use a very light oil on the ends where needed. I've heard past raves for QC Mango Butter but I didn't like it.

If you are natural or transitioning, you may find that any "butter" type mixture will give you lots of moisture. I really love Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter but I hear a lot of people like QP Mango Butter which I'd like to eventually try! But of course, a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner are essential!
