Combining treatments?

When I hit waist I stop
I've been having some trouble figuring out how to time treatments. Whether I should alternate weeks, do them every week, every month, etc. I can't figure this out and I don't want to end up doing six diff things on wash day.

So I was wondering if it would be wise to combine a protein and deep conditioning treatment. Would mixing equal parts be a good way to get the benefits of both but cutting down on the time?

Why don't you try doing a protein treatment once every 4 weeks and a DC treatment every week. See how that works and then modify according to how your hair feels.

On Nexxus's website they used to have a thing that told you how to mix parts of humectress, keraphix and some other liquid reconstructor thing they have (maybe they still do, I haven't checked in a while). Also, I have had a salon treatment before where they combined half of some protein treatment with half of a moisture treatment (all by Mizani, I'm blanking on the names now). So yeah go ahead and blend...let us know if it works out.

I'm think you might be referring to Kerafuse and Moisturefuse, my stylist used to mix these two and I do it at home sometimes. At the time I didn't realize I was doing protein and moisture combo I just liked the way it felt (thanx LHCF). So yeah you can mix, but I would stay with the same brand JMHO:)

Oh yeah sidenote, if you are using a very strong protein like Aphogee I would not recommend mixing it with anything else.

I combine Aphogee Reconstructor and Elucence Moisture balancing conditioner every 3 weeks or so and my hair is moist and strong afterward.:)

I combine Aphogee and Nexxus Emergencee, by doing this I cut that nasty Aphogee Stench and thicken it so that it's not dripping all over my clothes. THe aphogee ends the breakage and the EMergencee stops the shedding.

They called it a protopak! It is very good.

BTW Wilchild, I do it all the time. Go for it girl!

I don't think a hardcore protein mixed with something moisturizing would work too hot, but thats just my thinking. Milder reconstructors/ protein treatments would be fine though like the other ladies said.

I usually custom blend my treatments. To have a full NTM experience, I often apply the NTM Mask concentrating on my ends, and add the DDC all throughout my hair. I find this combo works great and turns my hair into silk. Also, when deep conditioning, I'll whip up a blend of ORS Replenishing Pak, honey, oils and Lekair cholesterol together, for a perfect balance of strength and moisture. Why not give your hair the best of both worlds? A while back I read an article in Allure magazine where a hairstylist liked to mix a little bit of leave-in conditioner, rinse out conditioner, hair mask, and deep conditioner for butter soft hair. So yeah, even the pros do it too! ;)

Yep.. My stylist called it a protein pak.

Mix equal parts of Humectress, Keraphix and Ensure.. let sit on head for 15 minutes with or without heat and then rinse.

I did this for 8 years and my hair loved it and I had the thickest hair back then. I don't remember why I stopped. I think I switched sytlists because I moved or something and then my new stylist told me I should rotate products or something. Well anyway.. It does work and it cuts down on a lot of time.... especially if you have long hair.
