Coloring Natural Hair/How long did you wait before coloring your natural hair?

Hey ladies. I see some of you have natural hair that has been colored. How long did you wait before you colored your hair? Does coloring your hair dry it out?

i first dyed my hair spring 04...about 6 mths after my b/c...no drying...no breakage...if ur hair is n bad shape before hand...u may want to work on that before u dye ur hair

I put henna in my hair last month, and found out I did it wrong. I plan on doing it again next month. I want a rich chocolate brown color, and my hair now has a brown tint to it.

I will be natural for a year next month.

Thanks, but I envy your hair. I guess I could say it was jet black or a deep black.

My hair is currently jet black but I want to experience a different color maybe light brown.

just be careful with the strength of the color if you have very dark hair and want it med -light blond, it will get damaged eventually, but that just means more cond/moisture treatments and more care. I only use henna if I want a change
