Hi! I just discovered coconut butter and wanted to know if anyone used it and, loved it as much as I do!:yep:
 
OK, I feel silly...I didn't know there was coconut butter? I use coconut oil...but I'm clueless about the butter. What is it about the butter that you guys like?
 
Yes, can you please post a picture or tell us how you are using it and where you purchased it from? THANKS
 
Differences between the butter and the oil in terms of application, performance, moisture, etc?
 
yes im natural.. i just take a glob ( like when you played with playdough) of each butter and mix it with my hands but if its too hard i'll melt it down a lil...i like to get messy lol
 
Sorry guys! I was cleaning. I do not know where my cord is to upload a pic. Let me see if I can find the website. When I went to Maryland last week, I saw it in MOMS. It tastes so yummy too. I never heard of it either lol. I mix it with HSR after cowashing and two strand twist at night. In the morning I rinse my twist while in the shower, untwist and then coat each twist with a little bit of castor oil. I love it!!!!!!! It is a mixture of coconut flesh and oil! oh amn i love coconut oil but dont use it in the winter because it solidifies. i may try the butter for the winter time. by that time my hair will be long enough for twist and braids so this might be perfect.
 
Since coconut butter is solid at 76 degrees I, melt it in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds and then mix with HSR and apply to slightly damp hair. I know it is hot outside(in SC) but, if you are running the air like me, then it will be less than 76 degrees in your home.
 
I've seen it in whole foods and was going to purchase it, but ended up purchasing Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream instead. Big mistake :nono:. I didn't buy it from the TT site but from some other site, and it didn't look like cream at all. Still curious about the butter, though. Definitely will try it out one day.

P.S. You guys can find coconut butter at whole foods right next to the coconut oil.

The butter is a mixture of the flesh and oil. The difference to me is it tastes better and, it seems to be more moisturizing than just the oil alone.
 
I bought this same stuff last year and was eating it up like crazy. I never thought about putting it on my hair. I added it to my smoothies and they were delish. And I think you're right about the flesh. It seems like it would protect one's hair more than just the oil itself.

I love that stuff. My hair loves coconut oil & coconut milk so I'm sure it will love coconut butter too. I may need to check this out. I'm interested in coconut cream too because I want something thicker to dc with. I cowash with the coconut milk. I use the coconut hair butter as a moisturizer. I use the coconut oil as a prepoo, sealant, and to add to my ayurvedic teas.
 
Honestly, ever since I purchased it two weeks ago, I have been eating at least a table spoon a day! It IS that good!
 
Hhmm it does sound good. Funny thing is up until this year I swore I didn't like coconuts. That is until I tried a coconut sorbet from Whole Foods or was it from Trader Joe's. IDK but it was good.
 
Being the pj that I am, When I went to Whole Food I bought some. I already had a mix of shea and castor oil so I just add a little of the coconut butter to it. Great mix.
 
I would love to try this, but I love coconut and I may just end up eating it LOL. Great find though!

I love etsy and I've seen their products and they SOUND good. I just wish the packaging was a little more professional. Am I asking too much? :lol:

I also have this product and I like it a lot. Mine is not whipped anymore because it melted in the heat and the turned solid once it was placed in a cooler area. I basically used it as a sealant.
