I can do without all the laughing and snickering. What is co-washing exactly and how do you do it ?

lol @ all the laughing and snickering

It is when you use conditioner to wash/rinse your hair. Some people do it because it is very moisturizing and also because (for me) my wet hair is alot easier to style. I usually put the conditioner, usually a cheapie like suave or v05, in my hair and clamp it up while I shower. At the end of my shower I rinse it out. My hair is always so soft and easy to style.

:spank: Now you know you've been here too long to not know...:giggle:

Co-washing is like what syncerelyhis said. Co-washing is also good if you want to do a mid-week cleansing if you sweat alot in your head from working out. As an avid gym-goer, I co-wash 2-3x a week and shampoo once a week. I co-wash b/c shampooing is drying for my particular hair. It is highly important that you utilize a moisturizing conditioner such as VO5 Moisture Milks, Suave Humectant or any other product that works with your hair to co-wash with. Some of recommended steps: (1) Rinse the hair with water in the shower, (2) Apply the cheapie conditioner, (3) Rinse the hair, (4) Apply the cheapie apply a shower cap and shower(leave on for 5-15 minutes; put a lot on), (5) rinse, (6) apply a leave-in conditioner, (7) airdry or whatever or means you want to use. I think the steps used in co-washing are also so important. I remember that when I first started I began to experience breakage b/c I wasn't using a moisturizing conditioner and I wasn't putting a lot of the conditioner on and using a leave-in conditioner working for my hair.

I find it works best for me to also leave a little bit of conditioner in my hair after co-washing. It can be a different, more moisturizing conditioner, but that works best for me. Oh, and I still follow with a leave-in conditioner. My hair loves the extra care.

I co-wash when I'm wearing wash-n-go hair or buns half way through the week.
